Is this car upmarket to the Tiago? That's the only way I can see a 1.2L turbo happening since the Tiago doesn't get one. And even then, what would the differentiation be with the Altroz which will also have a 1.2L turbo for its top variant.

Regardless, this "release only the weak NA model first and the turbo later" practice has to stop.

It's likely to be true. Tata's 1.5L turbo petrol has been a long time coming.

Spied way back in 2018 and the testing still continues. Last heard was the launch is in 2021.

Adding my thoughts to your post, was this Video shot at National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRiP) site or what is TATA doing in M&M test track and vice versa.

Do they want to position this car as a "TIny-caMERO"?

A pretty awkward name if true. Not easy on the tongue nor smooth on the ears at least for me. For what looked quite butch as the recent near-production concept, the name has a very "tinny" note to it. I hope its not for the HBX.

Hornbill was a much better sounding name than Timero, IMHO.

HORNBILL logo would have looked good on the car's boot like Hornbill or H O R N B I L L on the rear boot.

What i notice is the similar designed alloy wheels just not dual tone of the XZ variant of Altroz. Wish they had given it to the XT variant

H7X became Gravitas
45X became Altroz
Hornbill or HBX becomes Timero?

Overtime the codenames have started following some sort of a convention rather than just being a nickname
