Thanks a lot! This is something new for me. Personally, I’m much more comfortable slotting the key and starting the car, not really a fan of push-button start. But if Hyundai have done a survey and have listened to the feedback, the market will surely welcome this product with open arms.

Regarding the engine, I have never faced problems on the drivability front. The low end is good, but nowhere in the league of Maruti’s K12B motor. That said, the mid-range is the highlight of this motor. What I mean to say is, doesn’t matter how much they tweak the drivability, this motor doesn’t deserve a place in Venue. Purely personal views, and being a Hyundai patron, I personally want this product to succeed, coz it offers unique features and connectivity tech, which is previously unseen in mass market cars.

Regards

A non turbo engine is perceived to be more durable and reliable than a Turbo unit. You are right there.

But how do you know that the state of tune of the said 1.2 is different in Venue ? Did you get a chance to drive it ?

Coz I remember reading a post which said 1.2 L was a last minute decision (1.4 L was the intial plan) - if this is true then Hyundai wouldn't have had the time to tweak the 1.2 L for Venue. Hence my question

Previous generation Swift already had the engine start/stop button at the right hand side. If Maruti does it, it could be customer preference.

I am getting confused with your comment on 1.2 petrol. Have you driven the new Venue 1.2 petrol in any case?

1. Do we have the ARAI FE for all models?
2. What is the boot capacity? I hope it's not a deal breaker like XUV 300 miniature boot.
3. How much is the ground clearance?
1. ARAI data not available yet.

2. Boot capacity ( in US Model)
- 530 cc ( all seats in place)
- 900 cc ( rear seats folded)

3. GC ~ 200 mm ( speculated)

Hiding the toothy grill does make the car a bit special!

Looking at the grill, I'd say shops selling those Jaguar-esque grills will bump up their orders. They might even have banners announcing that they now have VENUE-compatible grills.

Something's not right. That's half a litre of boot space we are talking about!!

It should be litre instead of cc. ie. 530L and 900L of boot space in back seat raised and folded down position respectively.

No way! That's bigger than that of an Octavia

This is definitely the SOS button, clearly stated in one of the official guides to Connected car promos on twitter.

Jacked up I20 with a new grill and interior. I am glad they are bringing this. It will force Maruti to upgrade their Brezza. Hopefully they will spruce up the interiors and bring in their new petrol engine.

Boot space should read as:

- 530/ 900 Litres

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

I actually quite like the looks, interiors and the compact form factor. As a primarily city runabout for nuclear families coupled with Hyundai reliability, I think the lack of boot space is a minor irritation.

Certainly looks much more modern than the fast ageing Creta.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

This seems to be Hyundai's answer to Brezza. It's not very powerful and it's small. It will work though, being a Hyundai but I wonder if it will cannibalize the i20 itself?

Overall though, I think Hyundai could have done a better job on it. I'd still have a Nexon over this.

Cheers!
