Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Really looking forward for the release of the Venue and how it will fare on Indian roads. The main factors for us are going to be pricing & availability of DSG, provided Hyundai do not mess up on the aesthetics front. Engine specifications sound good enough for city driving but we will have to wait for team-bhp expertise on that.

Also wondering how this will affect the Compact SUV market - comprising of Brezza ,Ecosport, Nexon, XUV300 & the others. With similiar cars like the Toyota-badged Brezza & VW TRoc stated for 2020 releases , it looks like it's going to be a very crowded SUV segment.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

I have got an eerie feeling that this car will be priced atrociously high, driving the Creta prices even higher (with another facelift), as well as pushing the (another facelift) I20 active to Brezza/Nexon pricing.

Creta is due for a generation change and is likely to become larger and loaded with more features than the present car.

So yes - this scenario is very much likely!

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

There is a space in an affordable Luxury SUV, 16-25 lakhs. I guess Creta will be used to fill that and the new Venue can fill in the slot left by Creta. It would still sell and Hyundai will have another segment leader.

The interiors are very classy and seem well put together! Layout of the HU is interesting too, almost on the lines of the Ignis.

But I absolutely detest that front Chrome Grill! I just wish Hyundai offers it in Black or some kind of a smaller honey comb mesh. This design is beyond ugly!

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

The car looks smashing! Venue's pricing will decide its fate for sure. Also, DCT could be a game changer in the segment, since all other competitors either don't offer an automatic, or offer an AMT gearbox. Only the Ecosport comes with a torque converter gearbox, and we all know how much it's facing the heat from Tata Nexon.
Also, in the first picture, I couldn't spot the rear wiper, is that a lower trim, or is Hyundai doing what's it best at, which is not offering some 'real' features?

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

The interiors looks really classy. This one seems to the DCT with 1.0 petrol engine. Are the right side steering mounted buttons for cruise control?
The front grill is hideous, but will reserve judgement till I see the car in person.
The rear lights resemble that of a BMW 1-series hatch.

With the lack of a rear windshield wiper, this seems to be a lower variant. I hope Hyundai bucks the trend and offers a fully loaded auto variant.

Interesting note, the car is standing in a Mahindra stockyard.

That grill though

SX and SX(o) the top trims for Hyundai, doubt they change. Might be they don't have the SX(o) with automatic which is the case always with some manufactures not have automatic in top trims.

Rear taillights remind me of VW Polo too

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Oh sweet. Car looks smashing. Especially the interiors. Grill seems fine and an aftermarket matt black treatment should make it really appealing
I hope the auto box comes in diesel as well. If not Petrol it is !
Alloy design is pretty unique. Lets see it in the flesh for better judgement.
This is not the top end going by Hyundai terminology. I guess top end would be the SX(O). Whats the fourth button on the remote key fob for ? One is Lock, unlock, boot open and fourth ?

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

alloy design looks really nice, too much of chrome on the front grill. I also wish lights to be LED projector rather than halogen projector.

I too hope we get a fully loaded automatic trim, just the way Verna recently got one. However, there are 2 cars, one in blue and red, and the pictures are sort of confusing. Like you, and many other on this forum, I too want a top-spec automatic variant, which gets all the bells and whistles. Hoping our wishes come true

Warm Regards

You're correct, SX and SX(O) are typically the top 2 variants from Hyundai, wonder which variant is the AT that is shown here. The AT variant shown here also seems to the an Automatic Climate Control, so it does look pretty loaded.
Won't be long before we have all the details.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

So there would be a three-tier lighting setup at the front to complement that monstrous chrome grille! The rear looks neat and clean (almost like a VW) with those classy straight lines and subtle darkened tail lamps. The turbo badge on the rear looks very neat too.
