I believe the NIOS will replace the existing Grand i10. It's a downgrade in terms..........that the diesel AMT returns more mileage than the manual when they both essentially use the same gear box and hence the same ratio.

The AMT & its application is still a somewhat grey area in our market, at least as far as its performance (smoothness, change points, hill hold application etc). Not so elsewhere, where variants of the AMT have been in use for over 3 decades, especially in motor sports.

The AMT mileage being better than the Manual version’s (all other parameters being identical) is not strange since our manual driving habits are as variable as our natures – and this decides the FE. Whereas for the AMT, it is the algorithm which goes into the TCU that decides the performance – the better the sync. of the algorithm with the hardware, the better the performance.

When pre-bookings had commenced, Hyundai also revealed interior and feature details about the Grand i10 Nios, including an all-new dashboard and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In fact, a number of cabin bits seem to be shared with the Venue compact SUV, like the steering wheel (which comes with controls for the audio system), AC vents and even the infotainment system that’s likely to get Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity suite.

Expect the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios to carry a decent premium over the Grand i10, which should place it in the Rs 5.5-8 lakh price bracket.
In this era where manufacturer keep customers on their toes with teasers, prototype review, global unveil, pre-launch test drives, price announcement launch and of-course the unending long gaps between these events, kudos to Hyundai for keeping it relatively simple and quick.

August 20th is not far away. 8 days to go.

The new i10 model is already showcased to the World and we all know how it looks. Now I don't understand the point of a plastic wrapping on the grill, lights and logo what are they trying to hide and from whom!!

Those are the protective wraps from the factory shipments. Not at all camouflage wraps.

The Nios starts arriving at dealer stockyards.

I was hoping that the < > DRLs also double up as front indicator lamps, but that does not seem to be the case from the second picture, where there is an orange tint in the headlamp assembly.

Also, the rear badging / lettering of NIOS & the chrome garnish looks aftermarket-ish.
Mahindra (Alturas G4) and Hyundai (Gi10 Nios) should understand that some things (central widely spaced lettering of variant / company name) are best left to the original (Landrover) !

P.S - Are those projector foglamps?

The Nios seems to be good looking car. We are fortunate that the same set of designers who worked on the 2020 Creta have stayed away from this car!
The Nios is not a stunner in terms of looks, nothing radical, but does look quite different from the existing Grand i10 and the design is something that everyone will find acceptable.

The interiors look very updated though. Is that a white shade in the dashboard? Also the HU positioning seems very similar to the one in the Seltos, sort of seems like a continuous panel extending from the instrument cluster.

In terms of pricing, well, there can be no surprises, it should be at par with the swift, variant to variant. Although I expect Hyundai to offer better kit. And may be AMTs in more variants would also help in pushing sales.

Head on view is aggressive and like a Lambo Urus and the rear looks meek and like a Tata Tiago, to me. I'd like the front grille to be rid of any chrome, it will look awesome! Looks great in the dark shade pictured above!

Looks rather nice.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Asta. Seriously?:Shockked:

In the past, people have vouched to me that they have bought Hyundai ilo (pronounced i-low) and Ford Titanium. Good luck with the new i10.

Is this and the other future cars from Hyundai expected to come with the 1.0 GDI engine ? If so that would be awesome

Did some virtual de-badging on the front... The result is dayum! lol:

Definitely a looker from Hyundai. The designers have done a great job with the Venue and the " Grand i10 nios ". On the other hand the branding team needs to find better names !
Curious to know why Hyundai wants to sell both the i10s together. Will the previous generation be restricted for the cab aggregators alone ??

Yes, the set-up seems like projectors but not sure if it is halogen/LED/HID.
