The affected cars were manufactured between March 6, 2017 and December 1, 2017 and bear chassis no. from MAT629401GKP52721 to MAT629401HKN89616. Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by dealer representatives to get the issue rectified at their nearest authorised service centre. The Tata Tigor is powered by a 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine which produces 69 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 1,800-3,000 rpm and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. According to Tata Motors, the issue is not related to the safety of the vehicle and shouldn't be a cause of concern.

re: Tata Tigor diesel & Zest AMT recalled for emission issues

It could be a vendor created mess else Tiago & Tigor share same engine and transmission. Tiago is a fairly established product and there is no recall for emissions right from day-Zero.

Let's hope its a quick fix and there is nothing to worry.

Well done Tata for voluntary recall !

Its good that TATA is coming out clean with a voluntary recall instead of pushing this under the carpet or organising special dealer action.

However, with Nexon, Harrier etc making the right noise in the media, TATA would have surely not wanted this at this point of time.

I presume this should be something to do with ECU mapping, if not Tiago should also be affected as they share the same engine.

Thanks to Gautam Jain & Prabhagaran for sending this in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

The Zest AMT is also part of this recall - more details here.
