![]() Voted No. Are we not restricting to select list of cars just because we are brand loyal. I will select the car which suits my requirements the most. List of brands can be one of the criteria based on the factors such as reliability, service quality etc but I will not restrict to just one brand. I was satisfied with Hyundai when I possessed Santro and i10. However, Verna did not fit my requirements and I switched to Toyota for Yaris.

![]() No. They key factor for my decisions is value for money. Any brand that offers the best VFM is chosen, unless there are other impactful negative factors. Both my cars have been from Chevy but that is because they offered the best VFM, not because of being loyal to the brand.

![]() Voted No. The factors which brands add to the decision making is whether they're secure or not and how's their service. Rest all is the product. Last edited by shancz : 16th December 2021 at 16:14. Reason: spacing

![]() If it's just about me, probably not. Because I get to drive friends' cars now and then, I don't have any specific loyalty to a specific brand. As long as it fits, I sits. My father is totally a Hyundai fan and been so since 2010. His opinion plays a role in family car decisions. And I wouldn't exactly blame him. He's run almost 300k kms in all our Hyundais combined over 11 years, and he's not had any major issue with them. That's a lot of mileage for a non-premium brand like Hyundai and he was sold on it, a long time ago. I'm trying to nudge him towards a Harrier or an Innova now, but it's not been easy.

![]() Does any one here think it would make sense to have a poll on aversion to brands? Brand loyalty is one thing, but there are certain brands one is averse to also. It may be for various factors: country of origin, reliability, attitude of dealers in general. It may give good insights perhaps?!

![]() So far, Yes!! In last 12 years, I bought 3 new cars and all of them from Maruti only. I am happy till now and never regret any of the decisions. Currently I am using Ertiga Zxi + and to be very frank, I am more than happy with it. In future I may buy car from other manufacturer, but if I get good option with Maruti like Jimny, I will happily buy Maruti again ![]() Last edited by aniketi : 17th December 2021 at 18:29.

![]() I voted for yes based on my previous purchasing decision, am a Hyundai fanboy and my last 2 cars have been Hyundai (Xcent, Venue). In a couple of years down the lane, I may go for a 7 seater and I will first consider Hyundai before looking at other options.

![]() Voted Yes, a Mahindra fanboy speaks, my first Mahindra was 2013 Xylo E4 with the Meagle engine. Enjoyed the ownership period thoroughly, sold it once it crossed 2 Lakh Kms mark. Bought my second Mahindra in 2019, a Thar CRDe 700 Signature edition. Pretty much loving the ownership experience. For the next buy it will be surely be a Mahindra as a first choice.

![]() Voted No. When I buy a car, I look for quite a few parameters, brand is also an important consideration as I need to take into account after sales experience as well. I have owned three cars - 2006 SWIFT VXI (ABS), 2012 Skoda Rapid TDI, 2020 Tata Harrier XZA+.

![]() Voted No. My last two cars are Tata but I would like to think I go for vfm cars and lately I also like to have some margin of safety. I don't worry about brand or image and neither am I bothered about what's popular or what others are buying. My buying desicion is based on my needs and best fit. Ofcourse all said, I'm not averse to some external validation of my choices ![]() In chronological order Maruti Esteem (second hand), Ford Escort (second hand), Hyundai i10, Tata Hexa and probably my final ice car Tata Tiago at the start of this year.

![]() Yes. I am both an advocate and a critic based on brands I owned in the past. For example, I strongly recommend Maruti and Hyundai because of the predictability of their ownership experience. With competing priorities in life, some of us will strongly prefer a hassle free ownership experience. In the past 10 years, we have had 3 Marutis, 1 Fiat, and 3 Hyundais across 3 families. In the 10 years before that, we had a Tata and 2 other Marutis. Both the Tata and the Fiat were utter disappointments in terms of the overall ownership experience and I would never buy these brands again. Service is simply atrocious. No such problems with either Maruti or Hyundai. So as long as Maruti and Hyundai can churn out Competitive cars that align with my evolving needs and aspirations, I will stick with them. Chronology: 1996 Maruti Omni > 2001 Tata Indica >2005 Maruti Swift + 2005 Maruti 800 > 2011 Fiat Punto + 2013 Hyundai Eon > 2017 Maruti S-Cross > 2021 Hyundai Tucson Last edited by Pyrotek : 19th December 2021 at 08:22. Reason: Added chronology of cars owned for clarity and context

![]() Firstly, I am loyal only to my money ![]() Brands keep evolving - either go up or down, so it could change every decade & buying patterns also could change. For instance, I would buy a CRV if it were offered by Honda over a Fortuner/Endeavour anyday. Vaguely loyal to a geography, than to a particular brand - German or Japanese or so. Would not consider few, no matter what they do.
