Tata Motors special-edition Nexon Kraz leaked

Tata Motors has begun teasing a special-edition Nexon Kraz, which is expected to launch soon. Details of what’s unique on this special-edition model have surfaced on the internet.
The Nexon Kraz features a black and grey dual-tone paint scheme on the exterior. There are neon green highlights on the outside mirrors, the front grille and wheel caps, which add a dash of colour to the exterior. On the rear, it sports the ‘Kraz’ badge that's highlighted in the same neon shade. The Kraz edition is expected to be available on the XT variant, which means there won’t be a touchscreen infotainment system or alloy wheels on offer.
The neon theme continues in the cabin as well, in the form of highlights around the AC vents and the stitching on the seats.
Mechanically, the Kraz is expected to run the same engines and gearboxes as the standard Nexon. The line-up includes a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine making 110hp and 170Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel motor that produces 110hp and 260Nm of peak torque. Both engines get two transmission options – a six-speed manual and a six-speed AMT. The Nexon was also recently awarded a four-star safety rating by the Global NCAP.
Unlike the Nexon Rose Gold edition, the Kraz is not a dealer-level customisation job, but is, in fact, a limited edition straight from the manufacturer.

I really hope this edition does well. So much so that Tata brings black back into its color options. Hope we are not deprived of a black Harrier.

On another note, who is responsible for such pathetic suffixes? First the Tiago eNeRGy now the Nexon Kraz(y). Unimaginative and tacky, one feels like a health drink and the other one is actually crazy.

As far as features and pricing is concerned, seems like the Limited Edition is based on the Nexon XM and XT Manual Transmission variants with a premium of 24K for the added features and uniqueness.

Tata Motors has launched the Nexon Kraz limited edition. It is offered in 2 variants - Kraz and Kraz+ with prices starting at Rs. 7.15 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).



The Nexon Kraz will be offered in a new dual-tone colour scheme painted in Tromso Black with a Sonic Silver roof. It features neo-green details on the grille and wheel caps. The ORVM housings are also painted in this colour. It comes with a grey window trim and the fog lamp pods have U-shape grey trim as well.



The compact SUV gets dual-tone interiors with piano black trim and neo-green highlights. A Kraz badge can be seen on the centre console. In terms of features, the Nexon Kraz comes equipped with a Harman ConnectNext infotainment system with 4 speakers and Bluetooth. It gets a multi-function steering wheel, electric ORVMs and electrically operated tail gate. The Kraz+ gets additional features like electric foldable ORVMs, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, cooled and illuminated glove box, shark fin antenna, roof rails and security alarm. ABS with EBD and dual front airbags are offered as standard.

The Nexon Kraz is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine makes 108 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 170 Nm of torque @ 1,750-4,000 rpm. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit puts out 108 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 260 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. Both engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Rather rare combination of a weird name to go with a weird colour! Nexon is a very capable vehicle and they could have done much better to celebrate the first anniversary than this!

Not sure if they atleast googled this name before finalizing it. The top results I got says otherwise -

This KRAZ is pronounced as CRAZY, not KRAZ in the literal sense. So, this is Tata Nexon CRAZY and Tata Nexon CRAZY+!!

There is Ukranian truck manufacturer by the name Kremenchutskyi Avtomobilnyi Zavod (Kremenchuk Automobile Plant). They sell trucks with the brand name "KrAZ". These trucks were used in the Indian defence forces. Saw a few of those when I was in the air force, but I don't know if they are still using them.

They are generally very huge and the driver doesn't have a very good view in the vicinity of the front wheels. Not a good idea to be anywhere close when these trucks are on the road.
