I think the shift in design's got to do more with the changing customer preferences. SUVs for majority are no longer for mud plugging but for transporting the whole family in comfort.

Point taken. But then they should stop calling and branding then as SUV's , unless ofcourse the very definition of the word has changed. For me an SUV still rhymes with off-roading.

The whole design looks so messed up.The front end looks straight out of the 2019 outlander and for the rear they put some really long vertical tailights to highlight the height of the car.

I generally didn't like the design of the current gen Pajero sport which looked like it was botched up job of the L200 pickup truck(no offense to their respective owners) .The 2019 one looks even more horrendous.

Completely agree! Mitsubishi designers seem to have gone off their rockers after the Pajero/Montero generation

Features looks promising, what I observed in the video are

1. New Infotainment System
2. New digital meter console
3. Electrically adjustment seats for driver and co passenger
4. Electronic parking brake
5. Infotainment display for 2 and 3 row passenger like to Isuzu MUX.
6. Auto transmission with Paddle shifters

Perhaps Mitsubishi should change the name as well with this revision. "The" Pajero was an icon. Its shape, sillhouette are really etched in the memory of most of us millenials and after. The Pajero Sport of any generation on its sight burns the eyes as well as mind.

Many may simply hate this car for what it looks in comparison to the original Pajero. The car may be very capable and competent in what it is built for. Using a differnt name badge will actually help its image and sales more.

It feels similar to what it would, if the iconic Contessa brand was reincarnated but the badge was used for a B1 hatchback!

Anyone has any idea when is this new generation car likely to come to India?

Being an owner of Pajero Sport in India I am seriously waiting for this car to get launched in india. It beats the competition comfortably in most of the Australian reviews and my ownership experience has been absolutely reliable just like a toyota (92000 km/7th year till now) so i really find this to be a perfect replacement for my Pajero Sport. I am yet to diggest its new looks but i know the car is simply brilliant when it comes to all kind of functionality with usable seating capacity of 7 and this new car covers all the deficiencies from the older car like better refinement and NVH, 4x4 AT, Safety specifications, RF ICE, etc.

I hope that Mitsubishi launches it soon with the fully kitted version including RF ICE.

Last year I was in Thailand and Pajero Sports were a common sight there. I know some of the members are apprehensive about the design language but to me, in person, the vehicle appealed in a good way and it definitely has a unique imposing stance. Following are some clicks I managed to retrieve from old backup.











Those alloys look so dope on a black car.


P.S. In Thailand there's a trend among car guys that lower the car the better and low profile tires with large alloys are a very common sight even on SUVs and big vans.
