TATA Motors needs to show more maturity in such cases. They had taken similar digs at Compass as well during its launch - shows desperation rather than class.

Whats launching is indeed the facelift and not the JTP.

If it is the JTP, the teaser seems just fine. But if it is just a lipstick and eye shadow job, then the person behind this video needs to be warned of over-aggressiveness.

True that. I should have added that "If one gets launched, the other will get launched too." Going by their history and the recent news on a facelift touted as "all new", most of us will still be skeptical.

I am pretty sure the launch on 10th October is not JTP. The all-new Tigor will most probably be the one with touch-screen which has been spotted testing. I hope there is some engine improvement but not keeping high hopes.

If it's just a Facelift, the Tigor will not hold a candle to the Aspire. Yes, it's built well and has a good music system, boot space etc. But both the Dragon engines and the diesel engine of the Aspire are far superior to those of the Tigor. The Aspire also comes with a 6 speed torque converter in comparison to the Tigor's AMT. So, Tata Motors should refrain from such teasers until they have something unique that would totally blow the Aspire away. If it's the JTP, it might be a different story.

Indeed it will be a nip & tuck face-lift.

Refreshed Tigor to get subtle tweaks to its front and rear styling, new paint shades and more equipment
the car will get mild tweaks to its headlamps and tail-lamps

The biggest equipment addition, as reported earlier, was the inclusion of a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This new unit will be branded as a "Harman" infotainment system and will also double up as a display for the reverse camera. Additionally, Apple CarPlay will be available as standard on this system, however this feature will be only be usable in the car post 2019

IMO, they seem to be preponing the launch of the refreshed Tigor to draw some attention away from the Aspire refresh. They could have launched this refresh a little later, along with the JTP models and thereby addressing the looks as well as the engine options of the car.

That's a bit mood dampening. They should go the whole cog and announce the JTP along with this too. That way, buyers are free to choose what they would like. Just the car or the car with more oomph to it. I think it's a lost opportunity.

I'd prefer Ford over Tata even though Tata is trying hard... The dealers just throw away all the effort by the manufacturer... Recently we were looking at Tiago seriously and the dealership experience put us off and my friend settled for a Hyundai instead.

Targeted? Isn't this a big self goal?

They are suggesting that the Maruti is too much desire for luxury and overindulgence. And needs to be renounced in favour of the more utilitarian Tigor.

I don't know what exactly they wanted to convey, but sounds to me like the PR guy got his statement just the opposite!

I hardly think lack of visual appeal is the reason for Tigor's underwhelming sales figures. It already looks good enough, although facelifts don't harm, but the real reason it doesn't sell well is the engine(s) and with that being same, I don't see much changing just because they hired a famous actor to promote a car all of us know he clearly is never going to drive. Innovative ad campaigns capture public's attention but even they're only as good as the product, at the end of the day.

I like Tata's offering in every way other than the engine options, I'd have had Tigor, and not Baleno, had they just put Zest's diesel in it. WHY TATA WHY?!
