hey thats the ignis. was supposed to come instead of the swift. Maruti later changed the plans and got out the swift.

this car might have come down to study the feasibility in indian market. might be a maruti company car.

That's an Ignis! Maybe a specific import!
Or is it one of the pieces brought in to check the feasibility here?

Looks like maruti made the right decision of getting the SWIFT instead.

The front rmeinds me too much of a Baleno. Is Ignis the hatch version of the Baleno?

Yes, it is an Ignis. Looks more like a bonzai SUV or MPV. Available in SEA markets for few years already with 1.3l manual/auto specs. There is a two door Sport ver with if iam not wrong, 1.6l. Actually, I used to wonder why it didn't make to India before Swift.
I assume this particular Ignis might be an import by an NRI away from India for atleast two years, usually is entitiled to import a car which is less than 1.6l!

Yes, it's a Suzuki Ignis. As everybody else has pointed out Maruti shelved plans to launch it. This the older version ignis. It was a part of Suzuki's JWRC / Super 1600 programme but now has been replaced by the Swift there too. By the way, this is the older version. The newer version looks worse.

The Ignis looks like a Baleno or an Alto when viewed from teh front, and the rear end resembles a Fusion !!

Looks like Maruti/Suzuki dont score well when designing the rear ends of their cars.... such as the Swift, the Ignis and the Baleno.

They become so stressed out by the time they come to the back that they dont have enough designs in mind.
