Earlier this year, Hyundai unveiled the 2019 Elantra facelift in the US. The updated sedan has now been spotted testing India.

The refreshed Elantra gets a new hexagonal grille at the front, which is flanked by triangular LED headlamps. The headlamp clusters have integrated V-shaped LED DRLs and the front bumper houses triangular fog lamps. The car has a coupe-like side profile with blacked-out B-pillars and has ORVMs with integrated turn signals. At the rear, the new Elantra features a redesigned boot lid with wraparound LED tail lights. It has a dual-tone bumper with reflector strips placed on each corner.

It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a twin-pod instrument cluster with an MID in the centre. Hyundai offers features like wireless charging, rear view camera and an 8-speaker audio system.

In India, the Elantra is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine which makes 150 BHP and 192 Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre diesel engine that produces 126 BHP and 260 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

I do not know if this is coincidence or not but I saw a white Elantra test mule in Chennai similar to this. It was also accompanied by three camouflaged hatchbacks running less than a minute behind the camouflaged sedan.

I was driving, so couldn't take pictures unfortunately.

'AUTO' badge on the front fender screams Hyundai. Can't judge size with image distortion but possibly an Elantra facelift?

Looks like next gen Hyundai Verna / Sonata. From the Auto written on the front right I guess it to be a Hyundai car.

Looks like the Verna or Elantra to me. The design looks Fluidic!

But Verna is not due for a facelift anytime soon, so maybe the Elantra. But why in Noida?

2020 Hyundai Elantra.

Saw this car - in Faridabad again. If it is the new Elantra, it sure is a lot bigger than the present one.

That looks like Elantra facelift for sure. Hyundai is said to be bringing up the update soon.

Does look like the Elantra facelift but why are they testing it in Faridabad? It's also registered in HR. Does Hyundai have a manufacturing facility here ?

Recently spotted the same car in Gaziabad. Was being put to it paces by a unskilled over-enthusiatic lunatic behind its wheels.

Hyundai has a quality centre in Faridabad where they might be doing R&D and testing work.

That makes sense. So it really might be the new Elantra.
