Given a choice I would always prefer to go for the 05/06 model which had smooth lines, I know I am talking purely cosmeticwise but it gelled nicely to my eyes..

Why didn't he just order the 320d to begin with? I'm a petrol-head, but I prefer the way the 320d goes to the 325i as well. 325i just has a higher top speed, but in town it's nowhere near as torquey and the auto really suits the diesel far better than the manual.

kbk the car is a surprise birthday present for my cousin sister. so it was all based on her likes. my brother just organised the whole thing and took delivery of the car.
i used to be a petrol head too till the E280cdi came. it changed my veiw completly about desiel cars. my brother wanted the 325i too for himself but has changed his mind and would go in for the 320d.
top speeds dont matter cause except for the expressway you really cant use it in the city unless you are out late nights. auto box is a boon with the traffic ever increaseing.

we had been doing it from our college days. portholes, heavy rains with almost zero visibility we have been through it all. those were the younger irresponsible days of sheer madness. now we dont cross 100km. responsibility gets in the way now. we also had fair share of cars crashing but no one know about it cars were wisked off in no time before anyone got there.

A bit OT, but I drove a 325i again today and was quite happy with the performance. Maybe I would not be saying that if I compared it back-to-back with the 320d, like I did the last time, but by itself the 325i was good fun.

One thing I will gripe about though is the seats. They are quite ordinary. I was longing for some lumbar support and also for better under-thigh support. I understand the seats are made in India by some company called Lear. Too bad. They don't even let you order the optional Sports seats.

I've been doing lots of reading-up of the various 325i reviews in India and the performance figures they quote seem quite bad. Does anybody know for SURE whether the 325i's compression ratio is the same in India as abroad? If it is, then this car is crying for some 98 Octane gas with an 11:1 compression ratio. The car's true performance is being badly hampered by 91 Octane.

Sahil...has your 525d arrived yet?

congratulations Sahil. hope you have not regreted your decision. when the sparks dies down and you are over the thrill could you post pictures and a review of the car. what colour is she in ? i am sure she would be looking stunning.

a strange thing happened to me that left me wondering. i met this guy here at a party and he drove down in a brand new 525i. he said he regretted his discision of not going in for the diesel due to the time wait. i was shocked and he refused to give out anymore info.
