Tata Motors will soon add a new top-spec variant for its Tiago line-up. A first image of the production-spec new Tiago XZ+ has surfaced online ahead of the model's market launch which is likely to take place soon. The Tiago XZ+ will come with the new Etna orange paint shade that made its debut on the Nexon compact SUV. It will also get a Titanium grey paint shade with a contrast roof
The Tiago XZ+ apart from the new paint shade options, gets 15-inch alloy wheels from Tigor petrol, the grille and projector headlights are similar to the ones seen on the Tigor. On the inside, expect mild updates to the cabin and a larger 7.0 inch touchscreen that made its debut on the Tigor XZ+ replete with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto. The Tiago XZ+ also gets climate control and power folding wing mirrors.

I can see alloys on the XZ variant have been replaced by "Hyperstyle" wheels. After the Duralloy fiasco here, its good to see Tata not going hyper with imaginative names . I'm sure these "Hyperstyle wheels" are the same as the erstwhile alloy lookalikes on the Tiago NRG.

The Tiago has been doing great and its good to see Tata has learnt the tricks of the trade from the bigger guys of periodic refreshes which keeps the cars looking relevant. The inclusion of the projector headlamps and the touchscreen ensures that the potential customers do not dismiss off the car as outdated and will give the car good recall. The XZ+ is now really loaded for its class with some unenthusiastic engines !

Tata had updated the Tigor, now the Tiago and also launched the Hexa in the XM+ trim. Now what's coming next ?

I had written this email early this year to Tata Motors and now finally I can see them taking heed to parts of the email feedback with the leaked features of Tiago XZ+

This may not be hard to believe as the Tigor received an update just about recently.

Also, given the fact that the new Santro has got a good response even with the perceived expensive pricing, may be giving TaMo enough reasons to:
- keep brand recall high with a launch noise
- have a variant, upto date with the new (old ) competition, even if it means an expensive one.

Thus, the XZ Plus.

As per the details received, Tata Tiago XZ+ variant will get new 15 inch dual tone alloys, which are larger than the 14 inch alloys offered with Tiago till date. There is also the addition of projector headlamps with smoked black bezel, side body molding, 2 new colour options of Canyon Orange and Ocean Blue, chrome accent on tail gate, electrically folding ORVM with welcome function, and dual tone roof.

On the inside, the 2018 Tata Tiago XZ Plus variant gets a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Voice command access and incoming SMS notification. Apple CarPlay could be offered at a later date. It also gets fully automatic AC and digital control for the AC. For entertainment, there are 4 speakers and 4 tweeters (this was also offered with the XZ variant, but now XZ variant only gets 2 tweeters and XZ+ gets 4 tweeters). The infotainment screen also helps as park assist.

With all this show, now the diesel Tiago needs some go to complete the encirclement of the competition, it has all the bells and whistles, the JTP's take care of the petrol Tiago's fast versions, give the diesel ones a 1.4 diesel pumping 90-100 odd horses, some 20-22 kgm of torque with a 6 speed manual and slowly look at how the Swift Diesel and I10 Grand diesel crowd start moving towards the Tiago too.

Great , so Tata is at the feature deletion game again! 2 tweeters, Alloy wheels, knitted roof liner, 2 tweeters and full fabric seats are latest deletions from XZ Who gives them such ideas? This isn't the way to create a new variant, by deleting things from existing variants

The sales guy at KHT motors Broojfield confirmed that the launch will be on 15th December.

Any ideas about the price? I have to buy a small car immediately and these additional features are coming at the right time.

Thanks n a way, am happy to see the updates to the Tiago - that's how you stay in the game. Deleting two tweeters from the XZ model, I wouldn't bother much - as long as the dealer can do a retrofit. Did it really need the 15" alloy wheels - the cost of tyres replacement is going to be higher with this, I think it was quite ok to have a 14".

I hope the JTP picks up some of these updates too, especially the ACC. And I also hope to see an updyon the diesel engine - that's one of the weak points in Tiago. I don't mind a JTP version either in diesel.

Tata Tiago XZ+ variant launched at Rs. 5.57 lakh

Tata Motors has launched a new top-spec variant of the Tiago hatchback. The XZ+ is available in single and dual-tone body styles with prices starting at Rs. 5.57 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 6.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the diesel version.



The XZ+ variant comes with an optional gloss black roof and a roof spoiler. It gets chrome accent on the tailgate and body side mouldings as well as projector headlamps and power folding ORVMs with welcome function. 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are available on the petrol version.



On the inside, the new variant comes with new features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto connectivity, voice recognition, SMS notifications and read outs as well as automatic climate control.



The Tiago XZ+ is available with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which makes 84 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque @ 3,500 rpm and a 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 69 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm @ 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.



The XZ+ variant is available with 2 new exterior colour options - Canyon Orange and Ocean Blue.
