re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

Voted for the Mahindra Marazzo. The first ever competition to the Innova, and at an attractive price point. I see a huge shift in the taxi segment. The car should get good numbers even from private car owners.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

Wow, first time I had to think hard to vote a car for this "TBHP - Car of the Year" award !!!

I would select "Marazzo" from the list above. Its one of the cars which is decent inside out and has secured 4 stars in GNCAP. Its kind of carved out a segment for itself from higher range Ertiga to lower range Innova .

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

My vote goes to Ertiga.

Main reason: An 8 seater with the size, mass, cost and feel of a compact sedan - can be used for regular commute as well as occasional family outings.

They have made the 2nd and 3rd rows really practical now with decent luggage space. I consider this the real replacement of the first generation Innova.

XC40
1. Beautiful Design
2. Wonderful features for driver assistance
3. Super Safe
4. Can imagine myself actually not pulling my hair out at the drivers seat due to the 120kmph restriction coming into effect because of this car.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

I voted for the Volvo V40. Why? Quite simply, it is the only car in the list I would even consider buying.

The other car I would seriously consider buying would be the Tiago JTP. Unfortunately, this car is not in the list. If it was, I would have voted for it.
I most respectfully continue to disagree with the moderators about its exclusion from the poll. In my opinion, it is significantly different enough from the standard Tiago to call it a new car. Globally the car companies, journalists, enthusiasts, and the car buying public, draw a very clear distinction between standard family cars and their performance siblings. These two are always treated differently.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

Voted for the Marazzo because there is no other real option except the XC 40. This has been a real dry year !!
The Marazzo getting 4 star NCAP rating will make sure it secures this year's award. Great effort from Mahindra .
Will never vote for a swift with 2 star rating . I hope Suzuki realise the trend is changing and start rolling out safer and better cars for India.

Voted for Honda Amaze. Was confused between the Amaze and Yaris, as the Yaris has such strong safety features, but the atrocious pricing just kills it. Amaze on the other hand is a smart product from Honda, with really good design, features and that Diesel CVT combination!

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

In my opinion, Team-BHP Car of the Year is a prestigious award that should be bestowed upon only the most deserving of cars. In a year that saw insipid launches we should have the option NOT to bestow the honour upon anyone. I know it is too late to have the NOTA option in the poll this year. Hope such an option will be made available next year.

That being said, there is an old saying "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is the king".

Hence have voted for the Mahindra Marazzo.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

Thanks for the summary. The percentage of votes each winner got gives us a good idea of how deserving the winner was. E.g. XUV500, Duster and Ecosport got more than 50% votes. I, for instance, would love to drive a dull looking Duster over any other fancy car.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

Voted for Ertiga... It looks fresh and different from the previous gen ertiga. It has petrol & diesel and has an automatic.

Marazzo does not have automatic; that's a bit disappointment for city driving.

For a big family, ertiga seems to a good option now, who are on strict budget

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

Voted for the Honda Amaze, just for the Diesel CVT. At this price point very difficult to find a good Diesel Auto.

Drove this car from Bangalore to Chennai, though not the best car for highway drives because of the lack of steering feedback, but not once did it feel unstable. Also it has decent drivablity. Also gave a mileage of 20kmpl.

Perfect City Car if you can look beyond the diesel clatter.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2018. EDIT: It's the Mahindra Marazzo

Our automobile market has matured. Yesterday's hatch and sedan owners have grown families now. Seasoned car owners in today's market are mostly looking at people movers if you ask me.

The Marazzo sits in a sweet spot now with the 4 star safety rating, not to mention the ever growing demand for good people movers.

It's little wonder that I voted for the Marazzo straightaway within 2-3 seconds of opening this poll. It's quite instinctive to me. The Marazzo is my car of the year.

Next up, maybe 5 years down the line, we'll all start looking for safe, 5 star rated 12 seater vans, like the Tempo Traveller. Our families only keep growing, you see.

I am not going to vote this time for obvious reasons, a reason several have already cited. I can't relate to most of the expensive cars on that list and don't find any of the cheaper ones exciting. Perhaps, the Marazzo comes close, but still not good enough for me.

Voted for the Mahindra Marazzo. This car has better space and engine than Ertiga and ticks almost all the boxes if you need a family cruiser in a budget.
