The updated Figo will be well received by those who dislike the brown interiors and black body cladding of the Freestyle and also to those (including me) who hate the beige color interiors in the Aspire.

I believe Ford should market the new petrol engine heavily if they want good sales figures.

Also if they introduce the Trend variant with touchscreen, Android Auto and reverse camera, it will give good competition to its competitors in terms of being VFM.

Doesn't look so bad on the photos on the UK website, specially for greyish colours. And it looks better than the dental brace Ignis wears on the rear that gives it a pikachu-esque grin.

It does look better on the darker shades, but still does not fully convince me.

EDIT- Couldn't quote, replying @Chetan_Rao -won't such high pricing for Titanium+ Figo overlap Freestyle? It will make Freestyle look more VFM. Just my 2cents

There is no T+ on any of the entry and mid-level Automatics on sale by Ford.
If you want the Auto, you forgo the 6 airbags and the SYNC3 system. Period.

Also, the Aspire T AT goes for 9.7 on road in Mumbai and 9.5 with discounts, so the Figo could be even cheaper.

I think all the previous camouflaged Figo/Freestyle/Aspire test cars used to have GJ registration, a quick search couldn't find any TN test cars. Could this be Mahindra testing something with the new Figo? The TN 19 number plate is seen on many M&M test cars (XUV 3OO, Marazzo, TUV 300+ etc).

Not everyone took a liking to the Freestyle's form factor and brown interior, so the Figo may find its own customers who want a regular, smart-but-sober hatch. Plus there's no autobox variant on Freestyle, yet. See my pricing comment below.

Probably not a fair comparison, but Ford does have a T+ AT in their next segment offering (Ecosport), and the market is maturing so a fully-loaded AT may find acceptance. Wishful thinking on my part, agreed, given they didn't do that for Aspire. About time a customer didn't have to make an either/or choice if they're willing to pay.

Excuse us poor sods in Bangalore paying through our noses, I should've added a city disclaimer to my price expectation. The Aspire AT is 10+L on-road here, so the Figo may make sense at about 1-1.5L cheaper, leaving enough space to fit the Freestyle AT if/when one is offered.

TN-19 is the Chengelpet RTO's number code. Where the Chennai Ford plant is also located. IMO it is more likely to be a test car operating from the Ford plant itself.
I don't see why Mahindra would have anything to do with the Figo.

Any news of when is it expected? If this thing also comes with 6 Airbags and the works as in Freestyle T+ at a cheaper price, it could be a problem for Freestyle. Or will Ford keep that only for the higher priced Freestyle (on which they make more profit).

Good observation - that's because the Figo / Aspire & Freestyle are manufactured in the Sanand facility in Gujarat.

A doubt on possibility since Ford & Mahindra have a collaboration for sharing platforms? I doubt that will be for SUVs mainly and hence safely ignore the Figo connection.

Though to be taken with a pinch of salt, but a sales executive in my city hinted at a possible March 2019 launch of the Figo. He also added that Ford is planning to launch it for middle class with a lower price tag. That's my wishful thinking too. Figo is a fairly competent car. Only if it can undercut the Tiago, it can be a good success.

Figo facelift launch is certain in March 2019 as per my factory sources. Icing on the cake will be petrol AT, same 1.5 engine/TC gearbox combo as in Aspire & Ecosport.

I hope the new Petrol AT's gearbox is nothing like the existing Figo 1.5 DCT, which is a harassingly sluggish piece of rubbish auto 'box for slow city traffic and uphill driving.
