| ![]() How long after the launch should we expect a first refresh? With Mahindra's penchant for throwing in an entire cartload of bells and whistles, I expect a lot of little irritants, so may hold off till a refresh fixes all or most of those. The downside, of course, is that the longer I wait, the lower the price of my present XUV500 will drop. |

Newer CVT gearboxes are claiming better economy figures vis a vis manual. I suspect it is done by making the overall performance quite dull. Depreciation is the highest cost of owning a car. A 1-2 kmpl difference in fuel economy can be justified by the lesser stress to you knee and general convenience. And if you want to row the gears occasionally go for a tiptronic equipped gearbox.

| ![]() Unless Mahindra goofs up bigtime, I can see this car absolutely dominating the Safari and further dent the already falling sales of Innova. With highlights like the 185 BHP diesel engine, full LED lights, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof(and I am pretty sure many more) etc., I can sense a block buster as long as the pricing is kept within acceptable limits. Go on Mahindra, offer us a well rounded package with even feature distribution between the variants, something which Tata couldn't do. |

| ![]() Wow!! The next gen XUV sure looks a complete package. If Mahindra fixes the NVH, electronics, ride quality they have a winner at launch. ![]() |

Also, they must have surely learnt from the first gen launch back in 2011, that the public just won't accept a product with niggles and faults. They need to get it right from the get go. That and given the time they've spent in testing the vehicle rigourously, like you said, the only thing which can bring the XUV down is Mahindra themselves. The XUV has always been priced aggressively, so I have high hopes from Mahindra in that regard. The ball is in your court, Mahindra.

| ![]() XUV500 2nd gen should have below features to win the race: Safety: 1) Min. 6 airbags 2) NCAP test results before launch (>=4) 3) ABS 4) ESP 5) Front/Rear parking camera & sensors 6) Hill assist Comfort: 1) Front ventilated seats 2) Spacious 3rd row with decent leg & head room 3) At least 350L storage space (good enough for a 4-member family on a week trip with min. luggage) 4) Cooled glove box Value For Money features: 1) TPS 2) Utilitarian boxes like the space utilized in an aircraft (you can't see an 1*1 wasted!) 3) Cruise control 4) Steering mounted audio controls 5) Easy to remove a/c filters (to help self serve cleaning) I've not mentioned about core things like Engine, Specs like Ground clearance, Mileage as these are the primary criteria which assumed should be at par with competitors or above. *Sunroof: Not sure how many of it find it useful, frequency of its usage and being a necessity or not which is debatable and hence left it from my scope. thanks |

| ![]() The interest for this has heated up thanks to the interest generated by the Safari. XUV500 vs Safari would be the battle to become the kind of the jungle. |
