It was a mid-variant. Nothing fancy on that car, apart from the huge touch screen infotainment, LCD cluster, ACC and alloys.

No sun roof, no auto-dimming mirrors, not even manual sun blinds, no 360 degree camera either. But I hope Mahindra has a variant with all these gizzmos

There are some fresh spy shots in the above video. Please excuse the low resolution.

Missing electronic parking brake suggests that this might be a mid-spec variant. But this variant does get leatherette seats. The tan colour and the diamond stitching of the previous gen have been ditched.


There seems to be a peculiar finish on on the bottom portion of the steering wheel. I guess this is the same whitish fake wood finish that is going to be used for the dash.


Rear leg space on offer. Also note that the rear AC vents have been moved to the centre this time. (Previous gen used to get it on the B pillars.)


There seems to be a black plastic portion which is present only on the co-passenger seat.(I guess it will be used to slide the front seat to liberate more legroom ). Height adjustable seatbelts present.






Looks like this variant gets a panoramic sunroof. Also note that there are only 2 headrests in the 2nd row. (There used to be 3 headrests on the previous gen).

At best, I believe it will be priced at par with Harrier, which is about 1 Lakh more. To me atleast the boot still looks extremely small once the 3rd row is opened up! Also the tyres are looking like 215s and not 235s as seen on the current car. The car is almost production ready now hope to see 235s.

Some observations:

• Boot floor seems quite high (like in Hector), hopefully this means the third row gets a seat which is not too low which would prompt you to sit in 'knees up' position.
• If the same weird fake wood finish present in the bottom part of the steering wheel is carried on to the dashboard, I hope there is a way to conceal it
• Seats seem to have deep bases (or it could be the camera distortion which make them look longish)
• It is going to be strange feeling to hold the steering wheel when it is self centering after taking a turn due to the exaggerated flat bottom. It can be annoying in ghat sections.
• Raising window-line and the step near the third seat would make it claustrophobic for the last row passengers.

Overall I am happy to see the changes like the raised door sill, center air-vent (no more spider web inspired vents) etc. That handbrake still looks weird.
I am eagerly waiting for the launch of this vehicle.

Super glad that some variants at least gets manual handbrakes. And looking at the interiors, with all the screens, button overload on the steering wheel, automatic tranny, traction control, hill descent control and panoramic sunroof, it is not just some entry variant.
Looks like a mid/mid-high variant.
Though weirdly no auto dimming IRVM.

Load the topmost variant with all the ADAS, electric parking brakes et al.
Leave some decently specced variants at the Harrier XE,XM price range.

I believe these are prototypes which are a mix of various trim levels. I've read somewhere in this forum that it's common practice for manufacturers to do this when they are testing future products.

Yes, but its just a wild guess from my side. Since it's only present on the front passenger seat, I feel like it will have a similar function. I might be completely wrong though!

It doesn't seem electrically operated, rather looks like a mechanical flap.
