I haven't been inside a Brezza yet. I just visited the Toyota website, and for comparison headed over to the MS website. From the MS web site the interiors looked a bit different to me.

Hi all, I have a few questions about this.

On the Toyota website it says that the auto version will come with Li-battery.

Is it the same smart hybrid as in Brezza? Will it have a difference in mileage? my daily drive before covid was 50kms and sooner or later that will return.

Can I look at this as my daily driver if the hybrid can perform in start stop traffic of Noida to Gurgaon daily travel?

Yes, the smart hybrid system in the AT Urban Cruiser is same as that in the AT Brezza.

It can definitely be your daily driver and will perform very well in stop start traffic, but it’s not as full fledged as the Camry’s hybrid system where it can run on electric power solely for a few kilometers.

Regarding mileage compared to the Brezza I don’t think there will be any difference since the entire car is the same. You can wait for the official ARAI fuel efficiency.

This model sharing partnership between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki is only going to benefit Toyota in the long run in my opinion. I mean people would love to buy a Toyota badged car at a Maruti Suzuki price but the vice versa will never be true.

I mean imagine buying a Maruti Suzuki sedan for 20 lakhs. That's one of the reasons why models like the Kizashi didn't do well in India despite being mechanically sound.

Plus this gives Toyota a chance to enter into the more affordable car market which it was earlier struggling to do with the Etios and Etios Liva.

Seems like a clear Toyota win to me :P

From the Suzuki side, the win is the access it gets to Toyota's Hybrid and EV tech. The higher end cars of Toyota might also start helping Suzuki in the long run as our economy continues its growth and the current Suzuki owners have enough buying capacity to spend double what they spend today.

From Toyota side, I'm still not sure until the time both these brands develop a vehicle together from scratch.

Why no Diesel? Aren't the Etios Diesel BS6 ready? The 1.5P and AT transmission seems to be from Breeza.

Did we miss something?

Forget Etios diesel the Etios car is being discontinued in India.

You missed the bus. There is no diesel because Brezza hasn't got a diesel engine now. And yes, this is a Brezza with a different bumper and a T logo.

Etios is not on sale now in India as it's engines don't conform to BS6 emissions.

Toyota Urban Cruiser variant details leaked

Variant details of the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser have leaked online. According to a media report, the crossover will be offered in three variants - Mid, High and Premium.

Urban Cruiser Mid

This is the entry-level variant of the Urban Cruiser. It comes equipped with LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, 16-inch steel wheels, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls, keyless entry and automatic climate control

Urban Cruiser High

In addition to the features offered in the Mid variant, the High trim gets 16-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as cruise control.

Urban Cruiser Premium

This is the top-spec trim and comes with LED fog lamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, auto-dimming IRVM and rain sensing wipers.

The Urban Cruiser is a re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The car will be offered with the same 1.5-litre , 4-cylinder petrol engine. It produces 104 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. All three variant will be offered a choice of a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Automatic variants will get a lithium-ion battery with an integrated starter generator (ISG).

Toyota will offer the Urban Cruiser in six single tone colour options - Blue, Brown, White, Orange, Silver and Grey, as well as three dual-tone exterior colour options - Blue and Black, Brown and Black, Orange and White.
