The sqauare A/C vents are now gone and are replaced by round ones, exactly like in an SRV. The test mule had 15" wheels.
BTW, the diesel Optra is real fast off the line....
Saw it today, the gear lever seems to be different here (3rd pic) maybe it has a new gearbox, hopefully !

Great pics IMP. I managed a super bad pic as well. Many things about this car are changed.

As usual, my apologies for bad quality of the pic.

Dear Team-BHP custodians,

Can I propose we arm our very own intrepid spy photographer Sajo with a long-range telescopic panoramic wideangled Carl-Zeiss Tessar lensed self-adjusting ultra-high resolution video and stills digital camera to enable the dear gent in his spy-shooting endeavors with yet more sharper pics ?

Thank you in advance to Rudra and Samurai for their eventual donation of some of their photographic equipment in this regard.

With humbles,
Mr. theMAG

Well done guys, although we all know how the front end and the interior looks like (SRV). I am really eager to know what the did to the rear.

The existing rear is a class act and will be hard to improve upon.

OT: There is a new Sumo on prowl in Pune so keep an eye out for it.

Thanks Mpower and rahul_intlad. The rear end of the car was exactly the same as the present optra, hence didn't bother the get rear pics, the badging on the rear was masked in tape though.

OT: will definately keep an eye for the new sumo!

The headlamps are from the SRV, but the bumper and the grille seem to be new. The chrome lining on the grille is visible, like on the fiesta or the corolla.

As IMP said, the rear end stays exactly the same as in the current Optra LT. (ie, good). IMHO, though, there was nothing wrong in the styling of the current Optra.

theMag : All I can say is : LOL!.

Todays BLR ET edition has a ad of Chevy and the car shown in the ad resembels the above pic. Maybe that is the facelifted optra which is going to be launched.

If that's the facelift then it's a direct rip-off of the 5-series especially the lights, front bumper & sides.
