The shape of the headlights looks a lot like the New Maruti Baleno.

Dear theMAG,

Appreciate your interest towards helping TBHP-ians being able to get better views of cars that are yet to be released.

I would like to bring to your kind attention that the photographer is more critical than the photographic equipment he is using. Also, considering how close TBHP 'spies' are able to get to these cars, a long-range-capable equipment does not seem necessary.

Thanks in advance for your understanding,
-the Condor

It looks very Cadillac-meets-5series-and-Camry for a Jam session. Looks confused and not contemporary enough.

I dont like it.

Cadillac-meets-5series-and-Camry !?! Like how?
The looks are rather a welcome change for an aging design.

any idea about the engine specs. will they keep the current petrol engine and bring a diesel option. i think an Optra diesel with a reasonable price tag will be nice to have.

I personaly feel the looks of the current Optra is better.

No, even the Petrol is getting a facelift. The new one has taken cues from the likes of the new Malibu.
Heres the one I saw today :

Sorry for the angle, there was absolutely no place to squeeze my fat self into.

ORVMs now get indicators. (Why is everyone doing this?)

The newish interiors :

The nice rear end remains unchanged though.

Also, I couldnt see SRS-Airbag written anywhere on the steering wheel. Does that mean it no longer gets it (This seemed to be the top-end 1.6 version).

Ok, GM has take a short-cut.
They've used the SRV's front with the current optra's rear to come up with the "All-New Chevrolet Optra".

....and in the process, screwed up a reasonably good looking car.

Also, whats with the interiors. the current interiors are much better.

I think the current Optra looks quite classy but has been around a while. It would be a good job if they can retain its class and still make it look more contemporary. I hope GM plays its cards right with this car!
And SRV lamps are not completely welcome as far as I am concerned, the current SRV looks fine, but the front does not look quite strinkingly new, to me it looks like a good looking car that could hold a candle probably 6-7 years back.
Back to the topic, hope the car comes with a better gearshift. And a new-gen diesel would sure as hell help.
