My FIL recently purchased a Vento TSI as a replacement of his Polo GT TSI. The new car’s suspension is much worse than the old Polo’s. The rear end is bouncy and unsettled, and it basically drives like my Honda City. Reason? It now comes fitted with Maruti-esque/Honda-esque desi Gabriel shockers. The old Euro ride is history. The car now drives like any City or Ciaz.

Somebody needs to teach Volkswagen arithmetic or give them more information about the Vento:

"The Volkswagen Vento comes with two engine options..."

I too own a 2019 Vento TSI with 16'' tyre size. Polo GT TSI's ride is better than Vento TSI's due to better dynamics and setup of the former. However, in my opinion, Vento still rides much better than City & Ciaz. City has a harder suspension whereas Ciaz has a very soft suspension. Vento's suspension lies between the two, thus giving a mix of comfort and sporty drive.

VW Polo and Ameo facelift details out. Edit: Now launched @ 5.82L!

Yeah it is confusing. Further down the same page they mention the engine options and the TSi is absent.

This is very sad news. Is it the same with skoda also?

God knows what all they would do when India platform is up and running

Pardon my ignorance but why would a manual shift transmission need "dual clutch"? There is no need to preselect a gear in anticipation of user's moves in manual transmission gearbox.

Ameo GT version launched. It lives on It still does not get the TSi petrol engine though, surprisingly. Includes a rear view camera that the Polo GT does not get. Hopefully dealers will allow us to retro fit them into the Polo.

Sorry didn't get you. The website mentions the TSi engine on the Ameo. Could you please clarify?

The website mentions it gets the TSI Engine. However, then it says only two engine options i.e 1.0 MPI and 1.5 TDI (MT& DSG) This is very unprofessional and lame work by Volkswagen, never expected a Global Brand to be so careless and ambiguous. This shows their sincerity towards their own products as well as desperation to survive in the country.

Looks like the 'updated' Vento now sports a front grill similar in size to my 2014 Vento. Maybe I can just change the front grill, the bumpers and the tail lamps and I'll have the facelifted vento!

Exactly what I was thinking. So the previous Ameo DSG that was there, is it a diesel engine option only?

Also, I noticed, now Vento and Ameo comes in GT versions. Looks like they are milking the GT brand after seeing the success of Polo. Really sad to see such shoddy marketing practices of VW. If they continue like this wont be long when they say good bye to India. I am sure they know this too.

Probably they would have done retooling of the moulds as they would have worn out in 10 years Or may not be as the total number of Polos they would have produced in 10 years may be equal to the number of Altos Maruti produces in one year.

Why can't they come up with a fully loaded GT TSI variant with all the features of a Highline variant and price it may be 50-60 K more? It will be expensive but at least it can justify the price and may find many takers.

Exactly. I believe it needs the following:

1. Reversing camera
2. Infotainment with Android auto / Apple Carplay
3. paddle shifters
4. auto dimming IRVM
5. Central armrest
6. start/stop keyless entry

This would have been all new Polo GT Line!

The most crucial of them all, apart from the flappy paddles, ought to have been those all-LED headlights from the Vento Highline. It's something VW really ought to have added to the facelift GT.
