Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Honestly the changes made are so subtle & hard to notice for a layman that it didn't warrant such a big "launch" event at all. Tata, Mahindra make much bigger changes in their cars even without the knowledge to their own staff in all likelyhood ![]() They should have saved the money spent on this event. It could have easily covered the full R&D cost of the next "facelift" of the same models in 2024 or so. |

| ![]() For someone like me who has been an ignorant and casual observer of the Polo through the years who still finds it difficult to figure out the difference between the models based on the 3 letter abbreviations, this car has looked the same over the years obviously those close to these cars might be able to tell each one apart, for an aam non Polo aadmi like me, though a timeless classic its essentially looked too similar. It needn't necessarily be a bad thing, but just an observation. ![]() |

Was supposed to go to the launch event. Canned it because of the crazy Mumbai rains. Not worth putting my Polo GT at flood risk to go and play ' Spot the Difference' with this new one. |

| ![]() Only Volkswagen can relaunch the same Volkswagen. The good part is that now I can change the bumpers of my ~5 year old polo and make it a brand new Polo. |

However, are there any changes to the interiors? Addition of any more creature features? Their website too does not show or say anything. And to my surprise they have shown a dual tone interiors following a Polo GT exterior pic (may be a hurried job or a glitch, hopefully they have not got rid of the all black theme) | |

| ![]() The six pillars on which Volkswagen India wants to grow in the next few years. ![]() Aside from the 4Ever standard warranty package, all volume segment Volkswagen India cars will now come with a five year warranty coverage. ![]() Volkswagen India is also developing infrastructure and developing service personnel as part of this strategy. ![]() Further, Volkswagen India will also increase touchpoints, with current partners by 20%, to 150 locations by end 2019. ![]() Source: OverDrive Dual tone Interior pic from ACI: ![]() Last edited by SpideyBoy : 4th September 2019 at 16:02. | ![]() So is the Ameo dead? There were some rumours earlier suggesting the same. The timeline though was suggested as April 2020. This cements the demise of the AMEO IMO. Since they are going to phase out the car anyway in the next 6 months, why bother with a facelift. |

| ![]() Wow! They have the audacity to say that these prices are introductory, so does it mean they have plans to increase the prices in future? For God's sake why not provide a full and final Polo/Vento with all possible additional features seen on international variants, or will it just be a dream. Seeing the number of extensive DIY threads on VW polos I realise that how poorly equipped car it is. No I don't demand some useless features such as 'internet enabled car' and all that but some small and significant additions such eg paddle shifter in DSG or 1.0 petrol with turbo. |

| ![]() "Heyyy!, whom you are cheating? this is 2009, not 2019" This launch reminds me of a scene in a new tamil movie. A guy wakes up from Coma, and his friend shows a recent news, similar of which happened 16 years ago.. He utters a similar dialogue as quoted above. As an Ameo DSG owner I cannot hide my disappointment for the secondary treatment they have been giving to it. Skipping it's so called facelift is most probably than not the last nail to Ameo's coffin. ![]() An Ameo DSG is more value for money than the Polo GT TSI as a daily commuter. Sluggish pick up but post 1500 RPM, it can very well be fun to drive, not many stops to the fuel stations and perceived additional storage. I see it as a relatively cheaper two seater sports car ![]() | |
