This kind of rumour and speculation in my mind is what made me go for the Polo 1.2 GT TSI just this past month mainly concerned about a weaker engine coming in.

VW India's mildly camouflaged test mule of Polo spotted testing near Pune, expect it to undergo minor revision to GTI inspired bumpers.

Major update could be in the BSVI compliant power-trains.

re: The 2019 VW Polo and Vento facelifts, now launched

Is there any possibility that VW might introduce the 113bhp version of the 1.0 TSI, instead of the detuned 94bhp ?

Does this camouflage hide anything? If they tested this without it, I think it would have been more subtle. Nobody would have noticed anything.

As such anyone can figure out what changes are even with camouflage. So why do they do it?

I assume just to create a buzz around it. If they run around without camouflage, I dont think anyone would even notice any changes. Due to this there is a bunch of speculation and we have this thread which is into its 4th page. So some publicity around a potential facelift and maybe sufficient to create some doubts in the minds of customers shopping for a vehicle in this segment.

Any clue when the facelift GT TSI would be launched? Will it have a 1 L turbo petrol(I guess not)?

I don't think they are new per se. They are taken from the GTI so is many other parts of the facelift, and that's not a bad thing.

No no I meant that its one of the new features in facelift polo. Yes those might be from GTI.

Yeah those are the Euro spec 6C tail lamps. Looks like they are already being sold in the dealerships/service centres. A friend Sheetal shared these:

Costs 6400 Rs per unit. For the 2014 and onward facelift models, these are a straight swap. For the older ones, the connectors have to be changed.

Cars in this price range are being launched with 6 airbags, remote start stop from an app and they can't even launch the exact model which they launched in 2014 in Europe. Is it so difficult?

Why VW why?

re: The 2019 VW Polo and Vento facelifts, now launched

Not that anyone cares, but here are some pics of the 'facelifted for the gazillionth time' Polo and Vento. I really feel VW has hired ex Hindustan Motors employees in their product team. Nobody else has been able to keep a model going on for so long with adding a line to the bumper and changing the mesh design in the grille. 😂 These changes also make the already unrecognizable GTI even more anonymous.

Vw should either get some new models into the market or pack up and leave gracefully rather than insulting the Indian customer with these outdated products. All of its peers have had a generation change and a facelift atleast in the same time frame. Vw just adds one feature each month and calls it 'The all new Polo'. Sad.
