Ertiga to XL6 conversion is not relatable to my eyes. A company makes existing product premium in next iteration (eg Ertiga to XL6, Mobilio to BRV etc), not more economic!

BHPian ![]() | ![]() How does Autocar claims it to be a 'Spy-shot' when it indeed looks like a studio shot? It is looks nothing but MSIL inviting ACI for this special privilege of being first to reveal the new product, in return of praises for the product. |

| ![]() Is it just me or does the front look like mix of KUV 100 with Imperio grill and the side profile looks like Alto 800 on heels? Whatever we say, the car is going to be affordable, with high millage and low maintenance and will have waiting period running into months. |

The whole front end with the horizontal SUV-ish bonnet has a striking resemblance to the current gen Scorpio. And I feel they have tried hard enough to make sure the bonnet is visible from the driver's seat. Indeed a micro-badi gaadi ![]() Last edited by arbaz906 : 6th September 2019 at 17:49. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() From this Autocar images what i can tell that Maruti always presents nice looking concept cars but never make that same design into production. Maruti turns them into average looking design (read headlamp, taillamp and windows) in the actual Production version. They did the same with Kizashi concept, A star concept and now this Future S concept. Here I must appreciate Tata for giving same concept cars design into production version eg. Nexon, Harrier. |

| ![]() The grill resembles Scorpio but the bonnet reminds me 'KUV100'. Am I the one who thinks like that?. It will be matted with the 1.2 Petrol engine from Swift/Ignis/Wagon-R & Dzire range. More number of products ensures it increases the footfall to their showroom, people have option to buy their product instead of just going to the competitor. Anything from Maruti sells here, so this product will be a success. Good luck Last edited by TorqueKnight : 6th September 2019 at 18:21. Reason: Added the last line |

| ![]() Should I say " cartoon on wheels" ; like most other small Maruti cars! It may generate sales numbers because of Maruti tagline but the design is nowhere near to Renault Kwid. Top of that, probably this car will have a centre console which is not widely accepted in India. Let's wait to see how it moves! |

| ![]() Looks just like a vertically streched Alto 800. Not a great design. Atleast Ignis was better. If this is the competition for Kwid, then the latter has more pleasing stance and overall appeal, especially the leaked facelift. Last edited by nagateja : 6th September 2019 at 18:36. |

And then the name seems to be inspired by M&M as well - Espresso. This won't look out of place among Marazzo, Scorpio, Verito, and others. ![]() Obviously no point in being keyboard warriors. Next month we will see this car sit at the top of the sales table. ![]()

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Surely this thing looks far better than KUV100 at the very least. So thats one competitor knocked out in looks front pretty much. Kwid facelift remains & strong. What's Tata's plan with the Hornbill? Is it supposed to land in this tiny car territory? Or somewhere in B2 hatchback segment? Tata's only experience in such ultra small cars is the Nano so far. Last edited by suhaas307 : 7th September 2019 at 11:23. Reason: Spacing |

Product portfolio management is fine, but shouldn't basic safety features be taken care of first apart from Airbags and ABS? This should apply for every car maker.

| ![]() This would sell in the SUV crazed market, but in my humble opinion, this is one of the ugliest cars I have seen. Not only are the proportions all wrong, but it looks like a shoe box with a cut made in it for the wind shield and bonnet. Not to mention the wheels make it look like a box on skates instead of a car with wheels. And i like boxed cars like scorpio, even bolero, because they have decent proportional shape! But the BIG box interior, tiny and high bonnet with puny wheels, feels wrong. Last edited by suhaas307 : 7th September 2019 at 11:24. Reason: Spacing |

| ![]() So the S-Presso is basically an Alto meets Ignis meets Kwid. Maruti is definitely gunning for the little Renault. |

| ![]() Looks like a car designed in-house by Maruti. I know a lot of people don't like the Ignis but it atleast looks like a small Japanese car. This one looks like a manufacturer went straight from designing bullock carts to cars! |
