So there's new alloy design on the facelift, that's a good thing.

What's with the DRL shape single line looks fine and why the fold into second line.

Looks less of an Indica now and more into Hondaish territory.. its much better than before.

Build quality (a few misaligned panels apart) and safety is all fine but I hope they completely do away with those silly plastic Lego parts stuck on in a myriad of colours, dual tone is fine but Nexon came up with dozen tone and it looked bad to say the least.

This facelift is sure shaping up quite good! If it indeed does - Pratap Bose's team sure deserves credit. Facelift of such originally funky and pretty overdone cars are always tough to get right or even conceive.

So far these are pretty confirmed -

1. New bonnet
2. New headlamps
3. New Front & rear bumpers
4. New alloy wheels
5. New tail lamps
6. New steering wheel with cruise control

Quite a comprehensive face-lift since it also includes engine upgrades for BSVI!

As for the alloy wheels - these new ones sure look unique & tasteful. But I still like the simpler and brutish old ones. New design seems a bit toned down.

Still wondering where the front turn indicators are. Are the DRLs going to double up (like Harrier)? Or there is a small insert under the high beam barrel for a tiny LED indicator? Not able to see properly.

I don't think there is any change to the rear bumper or the tail lamps. Rear profile looks to remain unchanged.

The confines are same but the details are totally different. In fact the tail lamps I noticed in the 2nd picture you posted above.

Quite different internal compartments in new tail lamp. Also look at the center bottom half of the bumper -

The current bumper is far more sculpted (and costlier to make surely) with many creases & a very curved bottom edge. The new one seems simpler flat design.

Nice catch! Interesting, older spy images didn't have these new tail lamps and had the regular ones.

This seems possible, toning down a bit and also saving a few bucks, one shot two birds.

The cleaner design is looking really good (especially the front). I can't wait to see it without the camouflage!
But with the engines going BS6, will the performance dull down?

I seriously hope that :

1. TATA goes for a minimalistic approach and reduces the unnecessary "funk".
2. Keeps the prices in the same territory.
3. Improves the fit & finish , although they have done a fantastic job.
4. Provides Cruise Control.
5. Increase the Size of the touchscreen and provide a better MID and Instrument Cluster.

Much discussed topic about Nexon is its design. Here's what I think about the design choice by Tata.

Nexon when launched needed something very strong to standout against the formidable competition and that something is the funky design, and it really helped Nexon establish a respectable footing among competition. Now that the required footing is established, they are toning it down and are going for a matured design.

Nexon is an excellent product, it is safe, got the basics right, it is vfm, all that it requires now is few feature additions to stay afloat with the competition and a slight departure from the love-it or hate-it design.

Call it a CSUV or just a hatchback, whatever one calls it as, this is one lovable segment. The cars are compact to tackle the ever growing urban traffic, and offer the much needed ground clearance to tackle the potholed roads, all of it at a lesser price compared to proper SUVs. Most people don't want real/proper SUVs, all they need is a car with ground-clearance enough to take on pothole ridden roads, and they don't really care about what the segment is called as.

The second best alloy design after Hexa's 19 inchers from Tata. The design looks mature enough with respect to previous funky design. Front fascia looks neat with updated headlamp cluster and front bumper. The DRLs compliment the front with bright line. The rear and side looks somewhat similar to previous generation with minor changes in tail lamp. It is interesting to see that what they have new to offer into the cabin.

Being established itself in crowded segment where competition is intensive, it is better to offer Nexon with all features that competitions are offering while maintaining it's VFM tag. Also Tata has to work hard in marketing department to push Nexon in ever growing competition.

Tata Nexon facelift to debut with Nexon EV. Nexon EV will share exterior styling with upcoming Nexon facelift; both to launch next year.

Tata Motors is all set to unveil its first electric SUV, which is based on the Nexon, most likely on December 16, 2019. The company has been dropping multiple teasers and sharing details on the Nexon EV for quite a while now, with the electric SUV seen being driven on various terrains and cross-country routes.

A key point to note from the teasers is that the model shown is based on the pre-facelift Nexon. However, sources tell us that the production-spec Nexon EV that will be unveiled next month will be based on Nexon facelift, and not the pre-facelift car shown in the teaser videos. The refreshed Nexon has also been spotted multiple times being tested on Indian roads.

The Nexon facelift features a new bonnet and front bumper design. Reprofiled fog lamp clusters, a slimmer grille that’s more like the Harrier’s and new headlight units with DRLs are some of the other visible elements that help to differentiate between the re-facelift and the facelift model. Aesthetics aside, the revisions will make sure that the compact SUV complies with latest pedestrian protection norms that come into effect in October 2020.

While the Nexon facelift’s silhouette is expected to be more or less identical to that of the current model on sale, new alloy wheel designs and slightly tweaked rear styling are almost a certainty.

Looks butch for sure, the headlamps are amazingly detailed

Now for the wish-list :

- Shiny piano black to be used for the character lines and the rear tail-gate highlights to make the overall design less polarizing

- A modern and up-market looking instrument cluster The instrument cluster of the Nexon has always been the least funky looking bit of the car. Now that the cluster would no longer be common with the Tiago, as Tiago face-lift gets digital cluster, Tata should really take things up-market with the new Nexon now.
