Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

Where are the front turn indicators in the updated Nexon's higher variants?

I think the lower variant's is likely to be invisible to the oncoming traffic if the upper beam is on, which is the case most often on our roads.

In the DRLs. They double up as turn indicators, change colour to orange. Saw them in the Nexon EV video. Safe to assume same holds true for the ICE version. Pretty cool, IMHO. Looks really slick. Deserves to be in the same family as Harrier.

For higher variants, they have a switchback LED DRL setup that works as turn indicator.

Venue, Brezza and I think XUV300 (Diesel) still are not BSVI compliant. Their prices will only go up further whatever it may be.

We demand safety, features, connected technology and what not in our cars. Now that it's there and the prices have gone up, we are unable to digest, including myself. A compact SUV costing 14lacs in Bangalore. Phew, have to come to terms with it.

I hope Maruti knows what they're doing and price the Petrol Brezza competitively.
Maruti has only Petrols and price will reflect the same. So no diesel premium. At the 15L OTR levels, some customers would start considering the Seltos and others. Then it is a feature vs size mind game. From a buyers perspective, a pre owned XUV 500 types now starts making sense.

Pre-owned vehicles bring their own set of head aches. Abroad, there is this practice of changing the cars in a 3-5 years time frame (no matter the condition) so the chances are that the car is in good shape. In India we hold on to the cars till the time they make us weep, with higher maintenance costs and breakdowns. Only then do we part with the vehicle

So they've removed steering mounted controls from XM. Slow clap.

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

Instead of Nexon top end diesel for 12.1L ex-showroom, one might also go for Seltos HTK+ diesel for 12.5 L which is a segment above car with better handling, engine and NVH . Seltos(Australian) also scored 5 star rating in NCAP.

Apart from sunroof and vehicle stability management, I don't see Seltos HTK+ having any lesser feature than Nexon. Seltos HTK+ has 8 inch screen and rear disc brakes too as compared to 7 inch and rear drum brakes of Nexon.

Ecosport-S diesel with its 6-airbags(Nexon top has 2) and 11.58L price that is 50k lesser now seems more value for money than Nexon.
Although advantage Nexon would be:
- more GC than ecosport (209 mm vs 200mm)
- engine with more torque and power (260nm/110ps vs 215nm/100ps)
- more shoulder room in rear seat than Ecosport (unofficial figure of around 8 cm)
Advantage Ecosport-S Diesel over Nexon Diesel:
- 50k cheaper (on road- about 60k cheaper)
- 6 airbags
- better handling/steering (speculative, ecosport is still gold standard in handling/steering as per team-bhp reviews)
- bigger touchscreen(and possibly more fluid too, again sync-3 and ecosport touch screen/reverse camera is like gold standard).
- bigger fuel tank (52 L vs 44 L)
- 60:40 split seats (I maybe wrong but haven't seen 60:40 specified anywhere for Nexon till now)
- 5th spare wheel is also alloy and of same size

While i am quoting just your post, i intend to put across my point regarding this price comparison. If we leave aside the top XZ(O) variant which is priced at 12.1 lacs, rest all variants are priced neck to neck with the competition (may be a bit lower as well). Like the XZ+ is 11.2 ex-showroom, which is very close to EcoSport Titanium+ and XUV300 W8. May be variant wise sales indicate that absolute top variants don't contribute much. In case majority of the volumes are from one below the top (and further below), no harm in lapping high margins on the top variant. I don't see this backfiring for Tata. We must remember that Nexon is the freshest amongst the lot now.

But gains electrically folding ORVMs, projector headlights with DRL and more safety features to name a few additions. It’s not all that bad as it seems to be honest.

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

The XZ+(O) brings features to the brim. A very good set now. On par with most of the competition & beating some of it with the standard safety kit.

I wish it had more airbags though. Curtain ones & knee bag for driver would have been really good additions. I hope that's something earmarked for the next refresh 1-2 years down the line. Its good that the new TML keeps on refreshing the models at short intervals rather than the long 3-4 year cycles of their previous cars.

Any idea about who is the eSIM partner by the way? Is it going to be lifetime free? Or some annual subscription charges later on? (Not a big worry of course, those annual subscriptions aren't too costly generally.)

eSIM partner is not known yet, heard on some review/preview that it will come with dual eSIM for signal redundancy, don't know if its for Nexon or Nexon EV.

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

Bad call to keep XZ Diesel variant priced at ₹10.2 Lakh given the higher road tax and TCS.

Also, the fact that Nexon diesel is now priced well above the Brezza & EcoSport is an adventurous move.

Let's see, end of the day, Tata Motors is probably tight with finances and are milking the only cow thats performing well. All fine as long as their USP has "Passenger Safety" in the center.

Precisely my thought. With the BS6 EcoSport Titanium Tdci at 9.99 lacs the difference in on road price is quite substantial. The Nexon does have a few extra features but the Ecosport compensates to an extent with all five alloys and automatic climate control. The extra 20k won't do the Nexon much good.

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

The XM variant loses the steering mounted controls but gains projector headlamps and DRLs.
XM has been one of the most VFM and popular variants of Nexon throughout its life cycle. I just saw a video walk around of the Nexon. It is interesting to note that the lower variants get the turn indicators on foglamp housing and it looks good. On the interiors apart from the steering and interior color scheme, do check out the new gear lever. We will definitely miss the analog instrument cluster, the new digital one doesn't look that great.

Attaching a few screenshots from the video.
