Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

BS4 VS BS6 price comparison

Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh-nexon.jpg

TATA have managed a decent hike for BS 6 implementation considering this is a facelift as well. But then Nexon has lost the VFM tag on the mid and higher variants. Wonder why XZ petrol doesn't get a price hike? and Why is the hike inconsistent across variants?

Its now expensive than the Ecosport giving Ford an edge. Petrol is still competitive but XZ+ (O) diesel is 12.10 vs 11.58 for Ecosport S.

11.20 for XZ+ vs 11.03 for the Titanium + trim, Nexon has a lower starting price though and the XM is also priced lower compared to Trend.

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

I wonder if the face-lift will be able to formally able to claim 5 star safety? Considering the structural changes in bonnet, bumper & roof (sun roof added) I think this no longer remains the homologated chassis that received the 5 star GNCAP rating. This version will have to be tested again I believe? Any thoughts?

Actually Nexon lost its VFM tag around December 2018. The car was not cheap among peers at all & lacked quite a lot of features in comparison with its key competitors. Very good diesel engine & safety rating were its USPs that justified the price. The new pricing is quite optimistic on diesel variant (I have similar opinion about the Altroz diesel too). It would have looked far more tempting with some catchy items like more airbags or a better automatic.

I also feel that time was ripe to jettison the weird "XZ" trim.

EcoSport Titanium is priced at 9.99. Titanium+ is priced at 11.03 which comes with six Airbags and a sunroof. The facelifted Nexon XM misses out on Steering mounted controls.

The higher variants of Diesel would be Rs 15L OTR Bangalore. Thats expensive as transport budgets go. No decently specced Million Re cars anymore i guess.

So where does that put Nexon EV? FAME subsidy will help but I am guessing 18lac for mid variant and 19lac for top spec EV. 15Lac for Nexon EV is sounding like a distant dream!

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

I feel not just Tata but all brands should have only 3 variants. One base variant with all safety features, one mid variant with few additions and one fully loaded car.

Then they should have customization options like how they have given to Altroz. I understand this will lead to higher time difference between Booking and Delivery but can be cost effective for all parties.

Someone mentioned how Ecosoport is more value for money than the Nexon now. Mind you, Ford is most notorious when it comes to addition and deletion of features in their variants. There was a time when they themselves got confused of what a particular variant has and what it did not have. If people can remember the wrong feature list brochure they had officially published.

The pricing of Nexon with a max difference of Rs. 56k is justified. It is not just some sticker job facelift they have bought in and given an engine which is going to be compliant for another decade or so. Look from the point of view of re sale as well. The owner will have more negotiation power with a BS6 car than a BS4 one and for sure the percentage of difference between them will be higher than the percentage of price he paid for the BS6.

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

By the looks of it - on the lower variants - the front turn indicators are in the bumper around the fog lights. Thats just weird! Not very imaginative in design I have to say.

Also - the lower variants have their rear reversing lamp in the tail lamp cluster & not centrally in rear bumper. Top variants don't have a rear fog light either. Then why on earth, does a newly designed rear bumper still have a dummy cap at the bottom?

(Old Nexon had rear fog light upto 2018 in it & trims below XT had a single reverse light here.)

Funky and colorful are more appropriate terms IMO. I personally would have liked the front looks of the facelift. But I would still keep the interior of the outgoing model, with its all black interior and steering wheel etc.
I guess to each his own then!
From the images, I liked the beige interiors of the new one and the exterior of the old one. Maybe in person it looks different.

Universally only very few designs are considered Timeless. So it was hard to digest that Nexon pre facelift was called a timeless design. VW is generally associated with such an adjective.

The front now looks more mature but with lot of dwindling between variants they may just end up confusing the admirer as well.

The facelift reminds of Star Wars Stormtrooper helmets. I prefer the older one

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

The front is very 'LR Discovery-ish', I like it except for the grill bit. They could have taken something off the Harrier there. Rest all look like a proper upgrade, I have no issues, but my friend tells me that the rear charger socket is missing. That's a shame if true. The rear passengers use that a lot, and I even have a LED light fixed there. Rs. 15 Lakh on road for top spec in Bangalore looks like a tough sell, when XUV 300 is struggling at that price-point.

Re: Tata Nexon Facelift spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

I don't remember the last time i loved a facelift this much, Tata truly deserves success across all its models as it is genuinely working the hardest of all manufacturers in my opinion, they have actually improved the design, especially the front where as in most cases the facelifts end up looking an unnecessary half hearted job in ruining the original design of the car, i20's rear in the facelift comes to mind.

Thanks for sharing. The raised bonnet truly transforms the stance of the Nexon.

While I had the opinion that the last Nexon was over-designed, the new one looks striking to my eyes. Good effort from TATA Motors once again.

But have the prices cropped up to near Ecosport levels now? Looks like the OTR will cross 15L on-road Bangalore.
