Haval H6 airbags failed to deploy in C-NCAP crash test, cries foul over improper test!

Quote:
In the C-NCAP crash test, the Haval H6 aced the full-frontal crash test as well as the 40% offset frontal crash test, but where it got interesting is the side impact test, as the H6’s curtain airbags failed to deploy

Furthermore, the doors remained locked and the emergency lights did not flash.

Re: General Motors threatens legal action against govt

It seems that things have become sour between the government and General Motors. It had been a year since GM had announced its plans to sell the Talegaon plant but the sale to Great Wall Motors was put on hold because of the LAC incident. Recently the Maharashtra govt. rejected the company’s application for permanent closure of the plant which had ceased production from December 24, 2020, and instructed the company to keep it running and pay the staff as usual. This was rejected by GM and the company now threatens to take legal action.

Quote:
Squeezed between the Centre’s decision to clamp down on the proposed sale of its car manufacturing and export plant to a Chinese company, and the Maharashtra State government’s restrictions on shutting down the plant, American auto major General Motors has threatened to pursue legal options against the government.

More than a year since GM agreed to sell its factory in Talegaon to China’s Great Wall Motors (GWM) and six months after it applied for special permission under the government’s new ‘Chinese-FDI rules’, the company is yet to receive clearances. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has rejected the company’s application for permanent closure of the plant which ceased production from December 24, 2020, and has instructed the company to keep it running and pay the staff as usual. In 2017 the plant had 2,500 employees.
“Effectively, the State’s decision amounts to a requirement that GM either produce vehicles for which there are no customer orders, or pay workers indefinitely for doing no work,” George Svigos, General Motors’ Director of Communications (International Markets) told The Hindu, in a written response from the company’s headquarters in Detroit. “We reject both suggestions. We will move for the reversal of the order as soon as possible and firmly believe the law is on our side,” he added. Hardening its position in the face of the double-clinch from the governments in New Delhi and Mumbai, GM says it sees absolutely no “scenario in which it would reinvest in the site”.
Quote:
“GM’s plan is unchanged. GM production has ceased at the Talegaon site and there will be no future GM production at the site,” Mr. Svigos wrote, adding that it is completing “all wind-down work” after which the site will be dormant. He said GM’s current offered package was well in excess of the legal minimum of 15 days per year of service, and asserted that the union, which moved the court, was refusing to negotiate a settlement.

Re: Haval H6 Coupe SUV spotted in India

Haval H6 scores maximum five star ANCAP rating:

Technical Report
Press Release
Media
Rescue Sheet for first responders

In the front MPDB test the driver's chest showed marginal protection and the footwell ruptured, preventing the removal of concentrated load and variable contact penalties for the driver's left knee.

In the front full-width test the driver's neck showed marginal protection, the rear passenger showed good to acceptable protection.

The H6 achieved maximum points in both side impacts, only losing out slightly for excursion in a far-side impact.

Both child occupants (Q6 and Q10) were adequately protected in the dynamic tests. Most child seats passed the installation check.

Quote:
“This is an impressive achievement by GWM Haval,” said ANCAP Chief Executive Officer, Carla Hoorweg.

“This is GWM’s first new Haval SUV model to the Australasian market for a number of years. Delivering a 5 star vehicle to the market, against ANCAP’s latest 2022 protocols, demonstrates the brand has kept pace with the latest ANCAP safety standards and consumer safety expectations.”

“There has been a lot of interest in a safety rating for the H6, and this now provides consumers with an independent assessment of its safety performance,” Ms Hoorweg said.
Jolion results expected soon?
