| ![]() This is great news if this is true . But at the moment , this is still speculation like the news of Ford exiting India. Our market will face serious problems , if the foreign players are to leave . More competition , better it is for us. With the potential Suzuki-Toyota alliance ,our market will be ruled by a few dominant players . I take this news with a bit of doubt since I already have a bad experience with GM leaving India after promising something like this. |

If you look closer, the article itself says this was a courtesy call. Nothing to do with expansion. Quote:

| ![]() I am not sure if this is, in fact, a PR company writing an article to counter against the negative sales sentiment which happened post the Mahindra-Ford partnership news. Secondly, like someone said it was the same case with GM. GM went as far ahead as developing an India specific Beat based sub-4m sedan which was extensively tested in India while always maintaining that they have made the decision to invest more in India. Unless we something in flesh and petrol, i don't think there is anything to be excited about. |

| ![]() They'd be quite unwise to do anything other than a courtesy call before the election results are announced or else they have to stand the chance of paying a fresh set of courtesy calls. |

| ![]() Exactly what Chevrolet said an year before they wound up their operations in India. I really hope the Ford do invest and launch their Aspire EV and other global models in India soon. https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...-put-hold.html (Chevrolet to invest US$ 1 billion in India. EDIT: Plans put on hold) |

| ![]() Looks like they are exiting from Indian market. GM also announced billion dollar investment before exiting. |

| ![]() Mahindra testing waters with Ford platform. The first product to be co-developed by the recently announced Mahindra-Ford tie-up will be a Ford Aspire-based all-electric vehicle that could come to a charging socket near you by the end of next year. It’s the 4.2m-long Aspire that Ford exports to markets like South Africa, with a real-world range of 150km. Mahindra is targeting a range of close to 200km and top speed will be 110kph. | ![]() I am not an expert on the auto sector but I've often wondered why Ford, which has two such successful and loved SUVs (Ecosport and Endeavour) in their respective categories never tried to expand in the SUV space. Seems to me to be yet another example of a global auto major coming late to the party. https://gaadiwaadi.com/ford-to-launc...a-and-compass/ Quote:

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Reality sets in! - Mahindra wants to use Ford’s B-platform that underpins the EcoSport - Mahindra is also interested to use the Aspire platform for the next electric vehicle. Quote:

| ![]() They already sale present Ka/Ka+/EcoSport with EcoBlue TDCi in Europe / other export market with much higher & strick emissions rules. I wonder why would they want to use Mahindra diesel when they already have an existing line up already on sale? Secondly, Mahindra had Logan platform. I wonder how just platform change may help them gain better performance in EV segment? None of these cars & their respective platforms are designed for EV requirements. Both of them would be a makeshift transformation. Thanks. |
