The pricing for Karoq is 10% more internationally so expect similar or slightly more here. You can expect it to come around 22.5 ex showroom so that they keep a 'premium' over the top spec Compass 1.4T. Could even be 23.5 ex showroom if they get greedy.

Edit: I think they will keep the price of the Karoq near the top spec Octavia which is 23.59 ex showroom. I seriously hope they don't mess up their pricing.

Re: The Volkswagen T-Roc, now launched @ Rs 19.99 lakhs

Spoke to one dealer in Mumbai yesterday regarding the T-ROC. He told me that they have received only 19 bookings for the car till yesterday.

The price displayed by some of you includes TCS (which is your credit with the IT authorities) and R-Package, which seems extra ! The on-road price will be lower. One can bargain with Insurance companies, specially if you have a NCB from an earlier car.

No. It's close to 27-28 otr. You can read the same in Karoq thread. My dealer said approx 28 otr. Others have been told 27.

Just spoke with the representative at VW Safdarjung in Delhi. They expect the demo vehicles to be available by 1st week of April (but not sure of exactly when). Deliveries I presume will begin mid-April.

It will be great if this can be confirmed as there are 2 versions of this floating on the thread.

Also, what could be the dollar value of Multilink over the common torsion beam set up. What's the likely upside in ride and handling?

Looks Nice and seems fun to drive ! A baby Q3 on the side profile !! But still 24-25 L is good money. This is definitely not cheap !! But then you will stand apart from all the Seltos & Cretas and not to forget the Hector's !! This car is for the young at heart & free spirited folks who would look beyond the "so called practicality" of the mediocre Korean & Chinese offerings. I recently picked up an Octavia L&K 1.8Tsi and the 2 things that make the drive particularly enjoyable are the Virtual cockpit and the Canton Sound system !!

Would love to see VW go the Ckd route soon and also to start manufacturing the 1.5 Tsi mill in India, just like they are doing for the 1.0L Tsi & see them sell the vehicle in healthy numbers. Cheers !!

Great package for a little more than the Seltos GTX plus. But what's with the 11.1m turning circle for such a small car ?

Considering the DSG is comprised of mechatronics unit and clutch pack, isn't torque cap meant to protect the clutch pack? Majority of the warranty claims are for mechatronics unit. The chances of the mechatronics packing up in our traffic condition is high and this torque cap may not prevent the failure.

Cars with torsion beam have slight sideways movement (wobbling?) whenever the one of the rear wheel goes over small bumps or dips. Cars with independent rear suspension have more 'flat' ride quality.

I've found another one which has puzzled me. Their Indian website says that the T-Roc comes loaded with Independent Suspension at the rear. But, I've not found this on any of international sites with this engine.

11.1 m turning circle will translate to 5.55 m turning radius. Doesn't sound bad at all

When the much longer Octavia has a turning radius of 5.2 m , the T-Roc turning radius is definitely on the higher side at 5.55m. Similar sized rivals like seltos and Creta also have a TR of 5.2. This will matter when parking in tight spots in malls
