| ![]() Why would Maruti not launch 1.5 lit petrol at same price of existing diesel variants. When diesel is being discontinued there is no competing model so might as well as plonk the higher capacity petrol at same price of diesel but in BS6 |

Ciaz 1.3 DDIS models never got any tax emeption, despite having a 1300cc engine. Reason? The car was longer than 4 metres So, its wrong to draw parallels with the Ciaz 1.3 prices.

| ![]() As far as I know, engine size does have a tax slab, which is why Seltos has 1.5L diesel instead of the 1.6 from the current gen Creta. |

From what my understanding is, the difference is not in taxation slabs, but in insurance premiums. Insurance companies see sub 1500cc diesel engines different from those over 1500cc, thats why there is a MASSIVE difference in insurance quotes for the 1.4 Diesel Creta and the 1.6 Diesel Creta. I'm open to correction, nevertheless.

| ![]() The 1.6 is going away, to be replaced by the VGT and FGT versions of the same 1.5 litre engine. Two states of tune like in the VW cars' 2 litre diesels, insurance also will be cheaper as simeonovitch has said. |

| ![]() Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift takes shape Maruti has finally begun road testing of the long-awaited refreshed Vitara Brezza. The facelift for the compact SUV is likely to debut around the Auto Expo 2020, in February next year - four years from the model's world premiere at Auto Expo 2016, in New Delhi. Suzuki’s latest K15B 1.5-litre engine that made its debut in the Ciaz last year will see duty on the new Vitara Brezza. This 1,462cc engine makes 105hp and 138Nm of torque. Also part of the package will be Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid system, which features an integrated starter generator and dual-battery setup. https://www.autocarindia.com/car-new...s-shape-414218 |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I hope it has at least min 4 air bags. The current Brezza already has 4 star saftey rating it seems, Maruti has a chance to further improve on the safety section. Add to the package some goodies like sunroof, rain sensing wipers etc and we would have another 6 month waiting period best seller from Maruti. Personally for me it would be the perfect small crossover if it were to come with the things mentioned above and with the hybrid petrol engine. I will waiting for this version of the Brezza. Wish they had launched this earlier. I guess they waited for the competition (Venue) to heat up before doing anything about the Brezza. |

| ![]() Any idea regarding an interior update in the Brezza facelift? Plastics and that odd looking textured dashboard look certainly needs to change. It is really disappointing to hear people call the Brezza a poor man’s SUV. Certainly one doesn’t expect Maruti Suzuki to give finish like Hyundai. An iconic car like the Brezza deserves better from Maruti’s end. |

Let's see whats in store. We may see more snaps now. I would love to see better headlights, more airbags, better sound insulation, and a DRL. Last edited by BoneCollector : 21st September 2019 at 14:38. |

| ![]() Though I am waiting for its launch considering the rumors it having 4 airbags, I am sure going to be disappointed by the fact that there would be no-automatic/AMT/same ol' 4 gear TC. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Talk of milking a successful car! Hardly any type of face-lift changes. Could have been a good thing to align that with new engine launches IMO. Maruti I think uses the sheet metal press dies the longest by volume as well as age in the whole industry across the world. Just subtle changes to bumpers and light designs & face-lift is done. Nothing exactly wrong in it - the good old formula of don't fix whats not broken. No harm in continuing a car as is if it tops the sales charts in current state. |
