Agreed, infact something like the Captiva will give it some character. I have a feeling this will eat into some Creta sales. A lot of customers go a size up due to the lack of options in the lower segment. With the venue I am expecting Creta numbers to take the most hit. Which of these two cars provides better profits per car for Hyundai? Wont that be a factor while pushing for sales?

I have a question, I can see the length go slightly above the 4m length, does this mean It will fall in the higher >4m tax bracket or is there some 'grace' given for such small deviations by the govt? or perhaps Hyundai will find ways to shave off through external panel modifications?

India-spec Venue is under four meters, hence the difference in the front and rear bumpers.

I believe, India Spec would be different and will be probably shown in next Auto Expo.

1. Grille, bumper and tail lamps may be reworked to suit Indian taste.

2. That large touchscreen would be probably replaced with the 8 inch unit from Venue.

Since, Creta has been selling like hot cakes in India, Hyundai wouldn't think twice to bring in any India specific changes for the car. Since it is made in India for India - makes it all the more easier.

Also, it is not uncommon for manufactures to sell a same car with different stylings (even design of current gen Creta and ix25-China i believe is different - though small)

Lets hope better sense prevails @ Hyundai India

The nose looks "horrible" to put it mildly, I think the strong run of the Creta will come to screeching halt if the new Creta looks like this.

I am probably the minority who thinks it looks smart. The current one to me looks too utilitarian now that I see the new design. The front though totally screams Audi!

Polarising exterior design! Looks like Hyundai have taken inspiration (copied) from the Harrier headlights design and applied it both on the front and the rear

I think it’s the other way around. Hyundai was the first to come out with the split headlamp design on the Kona years ago

But yeah this iteration of the Creta looks terrible. Also I don’t think this will land up on our shores.

Looks like Hyundai is now getting inspired by Chinese car designs. It screams so Chinese now. Current generation Creta is very much balanced in design except the rear hatch design. Hope the Indian would be much less ‘Chinese’.

Looks like M&M and Hyundai have interchanged their design teams. M&M cars have started to look good while Hyundai is starting to look ghastly.

So crossovers / Urban SUVs' options shrinking? New duster launch in India has been put off, instead we only get a minor update as rumors suggest. New Creta, if this is how it'll look, may well stay out of India. Renegade is a Jeep. They promised a Compass diesel automatic in Jan 18. Enough said. Harrier has proven to be hairier than expected. And has devil's horns. And a horny tail. Excising all of which will take time. MG has a British superstar endorsing Chinese goods. Something very imperial about that. Kicks got what its name asked for.

If this is how it will look like, I doubt if it will impress Indian customers. Or may be Hyundai wants to sell this car only in China.
I see quite a bit of design element from Palisade.
Seriously, Hyundai should think of re-designing it for India.
