Any idea on who between the Renault & Nissan is the developer of the platform?

Guess Kiger would rival Kia Sonet and Brezza and starting price may be 7.5 to 8 lakhs for entry variant all the way upto 11 lakhs or so. This should become the best looking car from Renault's stable, in India of course. With Duster turbo petrol launch also on the cards, Renault can look forward to some good times this year.

I think the Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite are based on the same platform. And just like how the Triber created a buzz by its VFM pricing, it looks like both of these cars would be pitched a segment lower than the sub 4m SUVs like Brezza, Eco sport and Venue.

The current sub 4m SUV space has too many good cars and it may be difficult for Renault or Nissan to make inroads in this segment. So my guess is, just like how the Triber was pitched as an alternative to the premium hatchbacks and compact sedans, the Kiger and the Magnite too would fall in that same space, as an alternative to a Baleno or an i20. If both of these cars are indeed based on the Triber, I dont see why this is not possible.

Well if we believe the Autocar report on Nissan Magnite pricing of 5.25 Lakh, why would the Renault Kriger be priced at 7-8 Lakh?
They are actually badge engineered products by the group.

-Some common elements aside, Kiger dash will be distinct to Triber’s
-Top-spec version packs in steering-mounted buttons and auto climate control
-Launch in October 2020

The Kiger gets a unique dashboard easily distinguishable by the design of the centre console. A floating-look 8.0-inch touchscreen takes centre stage here with the air-con vents positioned below. Lower down, like the Triber, there’s a separate platform for the engine start-stop button.

The side air-con vents are also unique in look, and what also helps give the Kiger a different personality is the dark grey-black cabin theme.

This car really looks promising and if they are able to do some smart packaging like they did in the Triber, they should be able to offer great interior space as well as a healthy boot space.
The headlight design also looks neat.

I can also see in the image that there is no clutch in this car so it it probably a Turbo petrol with CVT or the existing Triber engine with Amt - I do hope that it is the former than the latter!
The new Infotainment integration also looks better than the one in the Triber.

I see too much of a resemblance to the Kwid in this pic. Maybe its due to the camouflage, but they shouldn't risk making it resemble the kwid.

Hi,

I do not think they are badge engineered products like Renault duster and Nissan Terrano. They are totally different vehicles of same segment, just sharing a common platform. Like Renault captur and Nissan kicks.
Please Correct me if I am wrong.

Exactly my thoughts when I saw the pics shared. It looks like a raised Kwid, doesn't excite me at all. Renault need to come up with something special if they want to get this going. We already have some great products in the compact SUV segment and KIA Sonet will definitely take this to another level.
