My friend's is 2018 facelift model S-Cross, his car definitely needs to be checked, the car's back seat experience is exactly as discussed in the above mentioned thread.

S-cross is one pratical every day car from MS with above average build quality. With the petrol engine it will become more affordable and will target a bigger customer segment at present scenario.

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.5L Smart Hybrid Petrol, now launched at Rs. 8.39 lakhs

The S-Cross is definetely a Value for Money, Well Built offering from Maruti.

The two key questions I would have are:
1. Is there an Automatic on offer? (I think the posts above confirms this that there is an automatic added now - the 4 Speed AT - not great - but OK they gave an AT!)
2. Have they added the Rear AC Vents?

I think these are the two basic things Maruti should have done in the new iteration as a minimum.

If they have added additional things like connected car features then that would be the cherry on the top. This is definetely one of the under-rated cars in our market

Ya , it's now 7 year old globally and 5 year old in India .Scross 1.3MJD BS4 Diesel range started at 8.34 Lakhs , Brezza 1.5P now retails at 7.34 Lakhs without much sub4m benefits, so how much do you guys expect on the Scross petrol price range ?

For reference Nexa Ciaz starts at 8.31 Lakhs , Ertiga 1.5P starts at 7.49 Lakhs.

I would like to add these images here:-

S-Cross is surely a good product from Maruti Suzuki, with a good build. But Maruti needs to price this aggressively. Not having a diesel engine already puts S-Cross behind in the competition. The base variant of the Creta has a diesel engine and is priced quite aggressively. But if Maruti decides to price it in the Creta's territory, then surely it will be dead.
And I hope Maruti brings out the diesel variant soon.

No rear air vents again!! For me this would be a deal breaker. I thought MS is one company that knows this country well.In my creta rear vents brings a lot of comfort to rear passenger at least for the time the AC takes to cool the cabin. It is a must have in our climate.

From the photos (if the exterior and interior images are of same car in both cases), it seems that both Manual and Automatic are getting the Smart Hybrid system. Should help with better fuel economy. But will MS be able to price this aggressively with additional hardware, remains to be seen.

This launch could have been a good opportunity to do something with the steering wheel that honestly is too long in the tooth now - at least visually. Sadly - it soldiers on.
