Cant blame VW for this as this idiotic trend was the brain child of our humble segment leader Maruti, they started this ridiculous never ending limited editions and did not even spare dhoni as well, launching a Alto dhoni edition, music edition and now a breeza sport edition rest of the competition is just following maruti, if it works for maruti then it should work for us as well.

Volkswagen has launched Cup Editions of the Polo, Ameo and Vento.

Prices for the Cup Editions undercut those of the Comfortline variants they’re based on :

Volkswagen Polo Cup Edition costs ₹ 649,000,

Ameo Cup Edition costs ₹ 619,000

Vento Cup Edition is priced at ₹ 924,000 (ex-showroom, all-India).

I sincerely hope somebody from VW gets to see the above posts. Particularly the "Power Cut" edition was in a different league. I started laughing in office in the middle of the day.

Coming back to the cars, Jeez! those so-called "Sporty alloys" on the Polo, Am I the only one to dis-like it? The VWs were all about their timeless understated design that ages well.

It begs a question, does the design house in Germany even know about these sticker jobs?

Ah! Finally the wait is over. A brand new sticker job to make a better ricer.

Here we are with the Ricer edition(No offense, I love VAG cars but this insane)

They need to focus on service and customer trust building activities rather sticker jobs.

They did a good job with 7 years warranty plan but many miles to beat Hyundai or any other leading brand for that matter

My best friend wanted to buy a GT; and we were thinking of holding up for the MQB Polo. Looks like we will finalize on the pre-worshipped Ameo DSG instead.

Polo cup is back, with the series replacing the Ameo Cup after three seasons.

The new Polo Cup car uses the same 1.8-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Ameo Cup racer that it replaces. But the unit now produces 210 hp – up by 5hp compared to the race-spec Ameo. The Race Polo sends its power to the front wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox. Volkswagen has yet another trick up its sleeve – drivers will now have a 20hp ‘push-to-pass’ boost at their disposal for overtaking and defending.

Looks nice! Although I wonder why these news about the race Polo are on the Polo / Ameo "CUP EDITION" sticker jobs thread. The Race Polo sure belongs in a better place IMO .
