Are they benchmarking it against Tata Altroz. If, yes it is a great achievement for Tata. I reviewed the Altroz turbo recently and the handling was amazing.

Tatas have come a long way since the Indica days, so I am not surprised at all. But what is intriguing is that a compact crossover has a premium hatch as its target

I am guessing it would be a benchmark for the powertrain only - as the Altroz has a 1.2L 3 pot, very similar to what is rumored to be available on this new Citroen.

Quite possible it could be the engine benchmark. But, don't really agree on it fully as the 3 pot 1.2 NA is not the best in class to benchmark with it.

Wasn't TCS doing the development for Citroen,could it simply be a support car with TCS staff ?

If you think Citroen is tongue-twister, try pronouncing Peugeot. I can't. Tied my tongue into a knot trying to pronounce it. Heck, I even had to get the spelling off google to get it right. Our folks pronounce even Renault with a 't'. If someone were to rule us, I'm glad it was Brits and not French. :-)

The last picture also has what appears to be a Baleno/Glanza in the background with test plates, so indeed they could be benchmarking against both Altroz and Baleno

Just did quick search on that Altroz. Got the below. Definitely benchmarking against Altroz, owned by PCA group.

I have a feeling this will compete with upcoming TATA HBX.
HBX & C3 might have some what similar dimensions (saying this only by looking at the pictures.)
Speculating both are offered with 1.2L NA petrol engines.

Citroen plans to enter the mini SUV segment in India with a new model, which is codenamed as Citroen CC21.

The Mini SUV was recently spied while getting tested in Tamil Nadu.

The upcoming Citroen SUV will rub shoulders against the likes of Maruti Ignis and upcoming Tata HBX. But its dimension and equipment level are expected to be similar to that of the Maruti Baleno and Altroz.

Mechanically, it is likely to derive power from a fuel-flex system featuring a 1.2-litre gasoline mill with ethanol blends. The ethanol ratio could start from 27 per cent. If it happens, the upcoming Citroen CC21 will become India’s first-ever small SUV to feature flex-fuel powertrain. The automaker is also expected to bring the electric version of the micro SUV, which is reported to be priced around Rs 8 lakh

CITROËN's budget SUV caught testing in Sweden:

Citroën has a new small crossover in the development rooms that is currently going through life under codename C21. The C21 will be a compact crossover that will be about 15 centimeters shorter than citroën's currently smallest crossover: the C3 Aircross. That means the C21 will be just under four meters long, and of course that's for a reason. Citroën is aiming specifically for the Indian car market with the C21, where cars that are less than four meters are eligible for tax advantages.

on a simpler variant of the well-known modular CMP platform, a base we already know from cars like the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa, DS 3 Crossback and the new Citroën C4. The car apparently gets a recognizable Citroën nose fitted, complete with thin LED lighting placed one floor above the actual headlight units
