| ![]() First design sketches of new generation i20 officially revealed by Hyundai India. They claim it is built based on four fundamental elements - Proportion, Architecture, Styling and Technology. ![]() ![]() ![]() https://auto.hindustantimes.com/auto...689699038.html Last edited by Venkatesh : 26th October 2020 at 11:22. |

| ![]() So looks like they aren't bringing all LED headlamps to India, or preserving it for mid life facelift. |

| ![]() The front looks fabulous. However, altroz has the best rear design IMO. I simply feel the rear belongs to a mini MPV. I am waiting for the diesel specs. If it has the same spec as the venue, it would simply take away most buyers from the altroz. But Hyundai may provide a detuned spec so as to differentiate it from the venue. |

| ![]() Seems like the media already got a sneak peek of the new i20. ![]() Also, got a call from one of the Hyundai dealers assuring me of delivery by Diwali if I book now. The launch is apparently the next week. Last edited by pandatrooper : 26th October 2020 at 12:15. |

Makes it class leading specs anyways - compared to the 90ps, 200Nm spec of the Altroz and the 100ps, 215Nm spec of the Figo diesel.

| ![]() I am confused... If this the same i20 where we are seeing the pics or is it different. How do the sketches matter after we have seen the actual? |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good of Hyundai to release the sketches etc. Does it mean the marketing / PR teams don't know that the pictures of actual cars in transit / at dealerships are already well publicized? Or since the money is already spent, its a must to follow the planned process to release teasers anyway? ![]() So often these car makers (all of them) make fun of themselves in today's information age. They prolong these steps of teasers / sketches etc so long that they are insignificant. Yet a lot of money gets spent on these anyway. Perhaps they should save these costs instead of skimping on things like missing spare bulbs / lack of basic features in cars. |

| ![]() These official sketches reveal a dual-tone interior dash with fluorescent green inserts, which isn't seen in the multiple leaked images we've seen so far. Maybe an optional pack to customize interior trims? Last edited by Striker : 26th October 2020 at 13:08. Reason: typo |

An official sketch release like this is more in the news both in print and digital which advertises it more. You'll be surprised how many people were not aware how the new Thar looks or if there was an all new Thar coming up until recently. A lot of these people buy such cars but are aware very very late. A sketch looks a lot cooler than scoop pics or even a fully revealed model.

| ![]() With the sweet DSG in the Polo GT TSI gone, I guess the sharks smelled blood and swooped right in. The Turbo-petrol+DCT in a hatch should be oodles of fun! With Tata soon joining the party, I guess it's good times for the discerning Indian car buyer. The looks are polarising, sure, but they're nothing like the Creta or Elantra debacle. I actually like the front despite it looking dated sans LEDs. The rear isn't as good looking as the outgoing version but it matches the sharpness of the front and the Hyundai's current design language as a whole. I'd happily gift that chrome bar across the taillights to a fellow chrome-loving Magna buyer in the showroom or drive straight to 3M and get it wrapped. Problem solved! |

DCT does not always mean fun. It's all about the tuning. The Jeep Compass DCT is a prime example of why tuning the gearbox properly matters.

The Europe spec i20 does have green inserts, though I remember reading an Autocar article which suggested that the Indian spec i20 will get coffee brown inserts. I would surely prefer green as a colour though. |
