Re: Third-gen Hyundai i20 spotted testing in Chennai. Edit: Launched at 6.79 lakhs

Atrocious and unpalatable pricing by Hyundai. As in rear design was distasteful and now this pricing. Baleno and Altroz would be selling more happily after this.

Re: Third-gen Hyundai i20 spotted testing in Chennai. Edit: Launched at 6.79 lakhs

The price comes as a shocker!

The ASTA (O) for Turbo DCT will touch INR 13.3L OTR Mumbai while the 1.5 Diesel will be approximately 12.8L. This is too much into the CSUV territory. One can have a Nexon XZ+(S) fully loaded petrol at 12.2L. Disappointed.

I have this car in my consideration and was also thinking about the XUV300 W8 1.5. Now with this pricing, there isn't a difference between the two.

Re: Third-gen Hyundai i20 spotted testing in Chennai. Edit: Launched at 6.79 lakhs

People after looking at the new i20's prices be like " Has Hyundai started including road tax and insurance in the ex-showroom price "

Because other cars in the segment cost this much on-road.

All those who got the previous gen would be thanking their stars that they didn't wait for this as for a few features here and there they are charging a fortune.

I think this is the first time I feel getting the previous gen car was a better option than this.

Re: Third-gen Hyundai i20 spotted testing in Chennai. Edit: Launched at 6.79 lakhs

Very bad pricing by Hyundai. The 1.0-litre turbo iMT Asta trim is just Rs. 10,000 cheaper than the Kia Sonet HTX that comes with the same powertrain.

These prices are introductory in nature and are applicable for deliveries till 31st December, 2020. If the introductory prices are going into compact-SUV territory, no idea how Hyundai will justify the price hike next year.

Now waiting to see how the Tata Altroz Turbo is priced.

Tata thanks Hyundai for the well executed "trick" that has made the Altroz a real treat for a B2 hatchback customer.

My god. What atrocious pricing for top end! I cannot help but visualize how a customer will walk to their showroom, see these prices and ends up picking a Venue. Well, as long as you cannibalize yourself!

I was about to comment the same. They have a once in a lifetime opportunity now. Only problem is that TATA is still sleeping. Even if Turbo is launched by year end, DCT version is coming only next year.

Remember how our market cried and shouted at FIAT for a 9.95 lakhs pricetag on the Punto Abarth with 145 horses?

Now that looks like a treat in front of the trick IMT i20 1.0 priced at 9.89 lakhs. No matter how much fun that engine is - should have atleast given it a proper manual gearbox.

In my earlier post I mentioned “Hyundai as expected does not provide ESP”

Apologies I stand corrected. Glad they got ESP in higher variants Kudos Hyundai. However they are priced at around 11 Lakhs ex showroom.
