The future i20 Active , which is expected to hit the market in the first months of 2022 , bets on a much more familiar style rather than on the body of the new i20 . The spy photos leave no doubt that it is a model with a completely different format, with a significant increase in length that stretches the back , so the interior space increases significantly.

At the back, the replacement for the i20 Active also presents a style that combines features seen in the Kona, with some light clusters in the bumper , as well as under the window, and these somewhat more vertical. The spy photos also give a taste of the interior, with a sportier steering wheel, a digital instrument panel and a large screen topping the center console.

Hyundai will offer this model only with front-wheel drive mechanics, and available with three- and four-cylinder gasoline and diesel options , associated with 6 and 7-speed manual and automatic gearboxes , respectively

The interiors of this new i20 look even better than the all new 2021 Elantra! The design language is similar, but the Elantra has lot of black plastic appearing in the HU console whereas its better finished in the i20, with seemingly lesser empty black areas. I hope Hyundai rectifies this for the Elantra else its just lame that a hardback which costs far lesser than their premium sedan has better interiors.

I agree, it's a slightly different design language when looking at the new Creta or even the new Verna, but I'm not complaining. This should be a good looking hatch and may give a tough competition to the Altroz in the looks department.

Man! That front-end looks gorgeous. Really loving Hyundai's new design language, the best after the Fluidic Verna. More on, the rear looks similar to the Altroz IMO especially with that Gloss Black Panel running across the rear. However, if Hyundai prices this one just right (+ Rs. 25000 - Rs, 50000 to the current model), they'll have another winner on their hands.

By 2030, the designers will make the headlamps and tail lamps meet at the B pillar.

Being a Hyundai it will be loaded with features too.

The fully loaded Aura SX+ with TGDi engine has a ex-showroom of 8.60. I expect the i20 with similar specs and iMT to be under 9.00. Aura comes in 12 variants, you can expect the same from i20, one for every budget in the range, if not more. There is absolutely no reason why one has to consider Jazz (unless of course, you have some serious fetish for chrome rings around control switches).

Hope they price this below the Venue the i20 is practically more spacious than the Venue(have sat in both of them). Now with the new set of engines, its a no brainer if priced right - easy cross shop from the Venue for those who can forego that little bit of extra ground clearance!

By the looks of it, Hyundai already have a winner in the new i20! Have to agree with Arjun on his comment about i20 having more rear seat space than the Venue/Sonnet twins. For a daily city runaround an i20 is all that you will need.

I can't wait to see what features they cram inside the new i20. Hope they take it back to the glory days of rear discs and sunroof!

I have seen the new i20 a couple of times in Germany. It was the same silver colour. The front looks good but I found it a bit too overstyled, especially the side and the rear.

But it seems like I have a lot less tolerance to overstyling. I think most of you will love it.
