If you pick up a diesel i20 top end from that generation it is a treasure. Narrowly missed out on one when I was last shopping for a car.

Totally second this and can relate to it as i owned the Asta (O) CRDI. Driven the car for nearly 1.15 Lakh kilometers in 6 years of ownerhsip and the vehicle was an absolute delight. Four Wheel Disc Brakes, 6 Airbags, ACC, EBD, Auto Fold Mirrors, Sunroof. Absolute value for money.

Noticed some differences with regard to the structure shown when describing about high strength steel and the actual production version.

Notice the horizontal crash member in this image:-



The same member is missing in the production version:-






Will this horizontal frame be added with the bumper or is it supposed to welded with the frame as shown in the video ?

The car they have shown in their video(white one) is not the new i20, check the quarter glass which is not present in the car (again the white one) not having the cross member at the front. Another area where it is not the i20 can be confirmed from the bonnet and fender where we see a rounded edge whereas the new i20 has a pointed headlight design. This white car is either a Grand i10 Nios or the Aura. Most probably the nios due to the lift gate.

Well, this was what my SA told me. There were only 3 cars in the yard & for sure Asta MT didn’t have a Sunroof.
Not very sure about the Diesel Asta (O) though. Missed to enquire about the same.
But my gut feeling is that the Asta (O) should sport a sunroof irrespective of the engine options.

Autocar India says that the 1.0 turbo petrol will be 120hp engine.

Under the hood, the all-new Hyundai i20 will come with two petrol and one diesel engine option in India. The petrol units in question will be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol for the lower trims, while the higher-trims will get a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

As per the recent post by Autocar, the i20 is ''expected'' to have features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Hyundai’s ‘BlueLink’, a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting and even ventilated front seats.
All of it is believable and spotted, apart from the ventilated seats. Though I would be very glad if it makes to the official list of features.

So basically what Hyundai has done here is, take the international variant, remove some features here and there like ventilated seats and put on the Indian loving bling Chrome. Well, on the other hand a very strong appreciation from my side if they bring all the engine options plus automatics from day 1 with a reasonable pricing(which they will of course).
