This page is turning out to be a perfect example of looks are subjective, from individual to individual. @GTO started off with real timeless car design until many started pointing out every Tom, Dick and Harry is a timeless design. Wonder, should I start claiming my Ford Figo is also timeless design. :D
Thanks anyway for the thread as it was quite a treat to the eyes. |
Indeed, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Diversity is life. In views and preferences and in life.
Please don't deride other members views.

My choices:
Hatchback - Polo
Sedan - Civic
SUV - Pajero & Fortuner
If Suzuki Jimny ever makes it to our shores, I have a feeling it will be on my list of timeless designs! Have only seen photos, not yet in the flesh!
Unfortunately, I currently own none of the mentioned vehicles!
Yeah right, there seem to be much wolf in sheep's clothing on this thread, but hey, the topic itself is subjective and so are my comments!
Two of my favorites:
Porsche
and
Mahindra
A vehicle design that has endured the test of time, at least here in India(Thar) and US (Roxor) it's still in production. This design started with the Willy's M38A1 , followed by CJ-5 from the early 1950s. That makes it more than 50 years of production run in various forms. Is it a car? Yes and No.

...and it's still desirable.
I would like to add Terrano to the list.
The ONLY reason anyone (me included) would prefer terrano over duster is the looks. Why else would one pay premium for a vehicle which has less features than its french sibling :Frustrati.
Facelift or lack of it, it is still a looker.
A timeless car design thread, and not even a single Alfa Romeo has made it here:Shockked:
Let's start with this, I might be a bit biased, since I own one, but, I would let, others decide as wellclap:
All pictures of my Alfa Romeo 159.

Spotted, admired & tailed on the expressway this morning. Truly timeless & classy :thumbs up
I consider the erstwhile Ford Fusion's design to be most timeless and unique. A vehicle much ahead of its time in the Indian market.
The SUV design that has aged very well is the
pre-facelift 1st gen Ford Endeavor.
However, the design is not perfect:
- It looks a bit too elongated (length)
- Width to length ratio is a bit off. I mean, it should have been a bit wider.
I only knew three cars (Ambassador, Premier Padmini and M800) before I knew any other car, and all these three have timeless design. I drool over Padmini every time I see one. VW Polo is another car which looks timeless, also Mitsubishi Lancer.
Won't look out of place even if one was to drive this car on the road today. Truly timeless.
Other cars I can think of are the Mitsubishi Lancer and Fiat Punto.
Mercedes S class coupe. A "future" timeless classic for sure. You have to see one in the flesh to appreciate the simplicity and purity of the lines. It is so classy..
Here's my list :
1) Maruti Zen
2) VW Polo
3) Hyundai i20
4) HM Contessa
5) OHC
6) Mitsubishi Lancer
7) Maruti Gypsy
8) Mitsubishi Pajero SFX
9) MM 540
10) MB W124
11) Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R
12) Toyota Supra MK4
Ford Fiesta 2008. Timeless design especially with alloys. This one seems to be lowered as well.
Also the Grande Punto in this Foxtrot Azure deserves to be on this thread
When luxury meets performance
A fine tradition of revolutionary design, emerged from the glorious R-Type Continental - the front wings, those speedlines and the rear haunches embodies Bentley's Unique blend on craftsmanship and exquisite style.

Eleanor (Mustang)
Pontiac GTO
Plymouth Barracuda
Funky FJ Cruiser
