Why that ugly Celerio is messing with that beautiful large watermark ? . After almost 2 years of hiatus from new car launches, Maruti Suzuki comes up with this ? Sad, sad state of affairs from the leading OE manufacturer. My views on the design remain the same it's ugly and looks confused. Wondet if MS will market this as hatchback or SUV (hey ,Spresso and S cross are SUVs !)

I feel it is more of a non offending regular design that would be liked by masses and it may be ugly (to certain people), it will still loads of them if priced right.

Ahead of its launch, new-gen Celerio base variant has been spotted, the colour appears to be Arctic White.

Another Maruti which will come with "freeze the driver's knuckles" feature.

Design is inoffensive (front has hints of Getz Prime) but looks like an iteration of Alto. Maruti could have tried something different.

Hate this dashboard design. Just a plastic slab designed to highlight the tablet mounted on it. Whatever happened to the cubbyholes in the dashboard? From the looks of it, only the Spresso retains the deep storage shelf in front of the passenger.

The exterior styling? In internet slang, NPC. Design, inspired from the generic traffic in video games.

Re: Maruti Celerio : Official Review

Next-gen Maruti Celerio base variant spied inside out

The launch of the next-generation Maruti Celerio is just around the corner. The car was recently spotted during an ad shoot. Now, new images of what appears to be the base variant have surfaced online.

The entry-level variant of the Celerio seen in these images gets a pretty basic interior and does not get a touchscreen infotainment system or even a basic audio unit, for that matter. The car has a simple 3-spoke steering wheel, a conventional analogue instrument cluster and a manual AC. It also misses out on features such as fog lamps and alloy wheels.

The new Celerio is expected to be based on the fifth-generation Heartect platform. The car is expected to be offered with 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engines, while transmission options might include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT.

The next-generation Celerio will compete with the likes of the Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid.

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

The current generation Celerio looks much better. This one looks smaller in pictures.
Looks like an elder Alto.
Maruti Suzuki design team is all 60+ I believe.

It will weight less than Alto and will be the most fuel efficient car in India. What else can they advertise it for. Looks sad in every other aspect.

Totally agree and I don't think it's a coincidence. This is supposed to be the new Alto for other markets.

Honestly, with the change in buyer's tastes and preferences, Maruti's previously successful strategy of offering multiple iterations of the same car may not prove to be successful now. I don't see any new customer base being targeted with this car. The launch of this car will just see a few thousand customers moving from the Alto and WagonR to the Celerio.

Suzuki India is launching a new range of attractive vinyl stickers to spurce up and add excitement to one's Alto/Celerio/Wagon whatever...

Thats pretty bare bones! Celerio doesnt really offer much in the base variant. I am sorry to say this but the interiors are ugly in my eyes. If I have to buy a second car then Ignis is a better buy than this although its a segment above.

I dont understand why the interiors look so polarizing, I hope it is better in higher variants.

I think the interiors will be same as you see in pics, even for higher variants, just that you will have their smartplay 7 inch LCD on the front.

Re: Maruti Celerio : Official Review

These interiors remind me of the Datsun Go+ interiors (built to cost) where the owner eventually will have to spend a fortune in accessories shops. It will spawn lots of Youtube videos on custom-built accessories for MS Celerio.

Re: Maruti Celerio : Official Review

Looks ugly! More Alto-ish! We own an Oct-2017 facelift version and it looks so better than this one and has a better stance too. Celerio deserves a 4 cylinder engine just like the Ignis. It's a superb car in bumper to bumper traffic and frugal too.

Absolutely, and not just others, our markets too.
Part of their move to migrate everything to the Heartect and K-Series.
Since any future safety regulations will mark the end of the F8D Alto 800. So they're preparing in advance, IMHO.
