re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

Ugly, is my first impression. Not even a single character line worth mentioning. And to add to that a front grill with a silly moustache.

Maruti still has designs appealing to my tastes- Swift, Baleno, Grand Vitara, however I totally hate how Alto, Celerio and the rear half of Ignis looks. Reminds me of some of the sketches I made as a child.

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

I liked what I saw till now. From photos, new Celerio looks cute, definitely better than previous generation. I am sure this will look much better in person.

I am hoping that Maruti will have better interiors also to match the exteriors. Surely it will come with some latest features like Touch screen, Android Auto, Reverse camera, Steering mounted controls, etc. Hopefully they will place this below or around Wagon R. Clearly Maruti has winner in hand, again.

This is definitely a looker than the likes of Santro. Fresh design for sure, will attract many buyers, specially ladies IMHO.

This car will look better in youthful colours, like canary yellow, apple green, sky blue, tangrine red. Conventional colours will dull the car personality IMO.

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

It's a neutral-looking design, marginally better than the Spresso, even though some might hate it. Maruti has once again done a mix and match by copying from many other cars to finalize this.

It's high time they change their current designers, please.

Did any of you note a smart detail? The rear parking sensors are integrated into the bumper reflectors! So no more drilling hole in the bumper at production stage and another valuable time saved on the assembly line!

This is actually a very interesting video, because it shows that a key-hole is present in the front passenger side as well.

Which leads me to believe that this will sit well below the Wagon-R.
In essence, this is more practical Alto K10, but with K12 rumoured to be making its way to this one, that will make it an Alto K12. And that might be the perfect pocket rocket.

re: 2nd-gen Maruti Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

More I see this car, more I struggle to find any fault. Yes it is boring and has mix and match design from other Maruti cars(which themselves are neutral anyway) but it is not a design you hate!!. Honestly I find it more proportionate compared to the new WagonR which got stretched and the ESPresso which feels like it will topple anytime.

To me, somehow it is looking like bit adjusted Kwid on front and rear.

Espresso was really baked too fast to have something to arrest Kwid in the market. I guess Celerio will be positioned above that. I wish Maruti also tries to copy & provide better seat comfort in these cars.

I'd say this is a great chance for Maruti to bring back the Zen nameplate. The bulbous design looks quite identical to the Zen's jellybean design, not too tall tallboyish, and somehow the rear looks just a bit like the old Zen. It must be the curvy hatch door.

New Celerio to be launched by end 2021:

Next-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio – November
Quote:
The Maruti SuzukiCelerio is going to receive a new second-gen model that features new styling and uses Maruti’s Heartect platform. We have already got a glimpse of the new Celerio courtesy of leaked spy photos that show a more rounded and minimalist overall design. Additionally, the new Celerio is set to share a lot of its mechanical components with the latest WagonR. Under the hood, expect the new Celerio to feature an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine, along with the 1.0-litre three-cylinder K10 engine. The new generation Celerio is expected to be launched sometime in November.

Me too, a KWID and a ballooned up Alto.

As always Boring exterior and interior design from Maruti.

Slowly they will lose the advantage, the growth in markets are taken over by other manufacturers.
