Quite excited about this car! Ticks all the boxes for someone looking to upgrade from a Jetta to an Urban SUV in the 30-35 lakh price range.

Hopefully, they don't price it too high.

Volkswagen receives 2000+ bookings for Tigaun AllSpace and T ROC. Will come as CBU's initially.

If market response is good then VW will look at a CKD Solution to contain costs.

Read T ROC instead of T Cross:)

The Tiguan Allspace will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 187 BHP. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace launched at Rs 33.12 lakh

Having showcased it for the first time at Auto Expo 2020 in February, Volkswagen has now launched the Tiguan Allspace SUV at Rs 33.12 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). It’s the first model VW has chosen to introduce by leveraging the relaxed norms for full imports, which lets a company bring in up to 2,500 vehicles a year in completely built-up (CBU) form without the need for homologation. As they’re all part of the VW Group – a single company – Skoda, Volkswagen and Audi have to share this 2,500-unit allocation, and as a result, the Tiguan Allspace will be available in limited numbers.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace India launch price Rs 33.13 lakh
Quote:

Volkswagen India has launched the all-new Tiguan Allspace in the country at an introductory starting price of Rs 33.13 lakh ex-showroom. The Tiguan Allspace is essentially the 7-seater avatar of the regular Tiguan that has been available on the Indian market for quite some time. The CKD (Completely Knocked Down) SUV, along with the Taigun and T-Roc, made its debut last month at Auto Expo 2020.

Coming back to dimensions, the Tiguan Allspace has 110mm extra wheelbase, at 2787mm. While width remains the same at 1839mm, height has gone up marginally by 2mm to hit 1674mm. Boot space has also improved significantly at 700 litres (with the third row down) compared to 615 litres in the regular Tiguan. The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is available in seven colour choices: Habanero Orange, Petroleum Blue, Pure White, Pyrit Silver, Ruby Red, Deep Black Pearl and Platinum Grey.

The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace comes only in a BS6 petrol format. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder TSi turbo petrol engine makes 187bhp and 320Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 7-speed DSG (DCT) automatic transmission which sends the output to all four wheels via the brand’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.

why will someone buy this over an X1?

I guess extra two seats, lower maintenance costs compared to the luxury guys, lower insurance, higher ground clearance and not having to live with both kidneys always on sale for repairs? Most are assumptions but hopefully it stands true vs a X1.

:D

Really looking forward to a shootout between the Kodiaq vs this.

Ridiculous pricing! The Diesel Tiguan was available at 28 and they are offering a Petrol at 33!

As I opined earlier, a 7 Seater buyer will buy an Innova or Fortuny/Endy. The last 2 seats are jump seats anyways. Stefan Knapp called it a Luxury SUV - He should see the X3, X5, Q5, Discovery to understand the meaning of Luxury SUV.

At 40 lacs on road , RIP in my view.

Awaiting the Karoq now.

For the same reason people buy the Kodiaq over the X1 I guess - more space, and some folks don't want to buy a BMW and fly under the radar while buying a VW or Skoda.

Plus the X1 is FWD only now so that lure of RWD has gone away for the enthusiast.
There are other things as well, that the entry level X1 may not have like front parking sensors and Android Auto/Car Play that someone may find useful.
I actually would have picked up the Tiguan myself is they offered this 2.0 petrol in the regular non "Allspace" version & priced it at par with the diesel car.
Now I wait and hope they launch the Passat with this engine.

The pricing shouts death on arrival. Anyone interested in this can wait for a massive 5 -6 lacs discount in stock clearance by VW. I think SUVW stands for Series of Un - sell-able Volkswagens.

AWD, nice turbo petrol with DSG and savings of at least 10 lakhs. Understated, no-nonsense design is a bonus
