What FCA is trying to do here? Compete with Fortuner? Their 5 seater Compass falls in the price bracket of a 7 seater Innova crysta. Let me guess. It will be priced similar to Carnival. All the best FCA for deciding if rumour to stay as rumour or truth.

Code named Project 598, the Jeep Compass 7 seater spied again:

Project 598 SUV will be identical to compass up to column "B". The model will arrive with the restyled Compass's look that will be presented in the first quarter of 2021.

The changes as compared to the Compass take place from the back door onward that will be greater because of the new wheelbase and to facilitate access to the extra seats.
The tail gate will be much more vertical and the tail lights extend across the piece.

The model will also inherit the new interior of the restyled Jeep Compass that will have new panel and door panels.

The Power-train for P 598 should have only 2.0 Turbo diesel engine that will have revised power and torque. It will remain connected to the nine-speed automatic transmission and will maintain 4×4 traction.

I don't know how the headroom will fare in these 5 seaters turned into 7 seaters like the Creta 7-seater and Compass 7-seater spied here. From the looks it feels more estate than SUV! Better to make a 7 seater on the compass platform rather than extending the rear overhang of the Compass to fit the 3rd row.

Facelifted Compass and the upcoming seven-seater version with bigger dimensions spied in India?

The seven-seater Jeep Compass could be christened the Grand Compass and it goes by the codename Jeep Low D or Jeep 598. The test mule of the three-row Compass has been caught on camera alongside the facelift Compass as its bigger proportions are evident from the spy picture in India. It may get a longer rear overhang to accommodate the final row of seat.

Any idea if the 7 seater also will be wider? I guess not as it requires lot of re-tooling (extending the wheelbase is always easier). But it will be really odd with a narrow and long cabin.

This Zigwheels article from last yr. says "In terms of size, the Grand Commander is 4873mm long, 1892mm wide, 1738mm tall and has a 2800mm-long wheelbase." which means width is to be more than that of both Fortuner and Endeavour. Not sure how it will be in the final product.

For me, both seems to be the regular 5 seater compass and its the picture angle that makes the dimensions look bigger.

Posting a pic of Compass in similar angle and I think it is well in line with the test mule.

Jeep confirms its 7 Seater for a 2nd Quarter 2021 debut.



- Jeep SUV for seven seater will be directly derived from Compass, but will have exclusive name

- Two Turbo engines options - 1.3 Turbo Firefly, in addition to the 2.0 Turbo diesel confirmed.

- The name of the 7-seater Jeep will be exclusive and not "Grand Compass".

In the external look, the Jeep 598 will follow that of the Compass line 2022. The seven-crack grid will retain virtually the same format seen in the current Compass. Already the headlights will gain new shape and will be "invaded" by the bumper on its part that is the main grille.

7-seater Jeep Compass spied testing

Spy images of what is believed to be the 7-seat version of the Jeep Compass have surfaced online.



The test mule seen in these images appears to be slightly longer the 5-seater Compass. It has a larger quarter glass and reshaped D-pillar. While the squared-off wheel arches have been retained, the tail lamp clusters seem to have been reshaped.



The front end of the test car is wrapped under heavy camouflage, which suggests that it might get an updated front fascia based on the facelift version sold in the international market.



It has been reported that the Compass could be offered with the new 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, in addition to the existing 2.0-litre diesel unit. The turbo petrol engine could be offered with either a manual or dual-clutch automatic gearbox, while the latter could be paired with either a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission.

Looking at the car it doesn’t look longer than 4500mm even height is low so the last row is going to be a severe compromise!

Also once you have seen the offset rear wheel you just can’t unsee it, Jeep should correct this.

I mean, they have been selling the 'offset' wheels for over 3 years and thousands of cars later.

It's been mentioned in the official review also. See the attached picture.
