A car like the Polestar is something you buy with the heart, not the head. I personally don't like demo cars because they are royally abused (Indians don't treat the property of others particularly well). That said, I would definitely be tempted by a Polestar AWD being offered at 25 lakhs. As long as one gets it comprehensively checked by a pro, it is in decent shape and there is warranty offered, I'd consider.

With reference to parts, don't expect Volvo or its dealers to stock anything other than the frequently used maintenance items. It's the same for all imported cars.

Re: Volvo V40 & S60 discontinued

That's sad. I owned a V40 and currently have a S60 CC.

Both are fantastic cars in IMHO.

S60 Cross Country is truly one of its kind.

Hopefully they shall relaunch the latest versions sometime in the future.

I totally agree with you on this. However, the abuse to which a Demo Car is subjected is difficult to gauge.

Re: Volvo V40 & S60 discontinued

Isnt the new S60 being assembled in India? The V40 and current S60 were CBUs. I hope they will still launch the S60 at a cheaper price (35L ex-showroom types).

Does 'discontinued' mean sold out/ not for sale for S60?

As @Equus mentioned, 2019 S60 petrol is stated to launch next year with local assembly.

Re: Volvo V40 & S60 discontinued

S60 Petrol hasn't been available for at least last 8 months. When I was in the market for replacing my Laura, I had called the Volvo dealer in December 2018 and I was told petrol S60 has been discontinued and the new version may take a while.

I believe the existing model is discontinued, and will be replaced by a new model as and when Volvo decides.

Re: Volvo V40 & S60 discontinued

Ah thats sad. Of course I can never afford a Volvo in India but had the pleasure of driving the sporty S60 diesel aplenty in Europe. Fun to drive on the auto bahns and in the cities too! And the V40 hs always been my favourite in Europe for its looks.

India's car market and overall infrastructure and buying power isn't there yet, so not an exceptionally surprising news. But sad still to see them go.

Re: Volvo V40 & S60 discontinued

Does anyone know if the driving modes change engine, steering and suspension or only the display? In the S60.

Re: Volvo V40 & S60 discontinued

Could not find a relevant thread to ask this question.

I am looking to buy a pre-owned luxury vehicle in the range of INR 18-20 lacs. I am inclined towards BMW, however the cars in my range either have too many KMS on the odo or are 2012-13 models. I do not want a pre-owned driven more than 35k kms. I have come across two S60 CC and both are 2018 models. One is black driven 18k kms and the other is a silver with 30k kms on the odo. The black one is quoted at INR 25L and the silver at INR 24L.

I really like this particular variant of the S60 as its got a good GC which is a must considering Mumbai roads. I frequently go to Lonavala and the GC and AWD would be put to good use. I do not intend to use is off road but the 201mm GC provides comfort compared to a low GC sedan.

Just want to understand from you folks if its wise to buy a discontinued vehicle? How expensive would it be to maintain a Volvo over the next 5 years i.e. when the vehicle would be in its 8th or 9th year of ownership? Also are there competent FnGs who can handle Volvo's? My FnG works on BMWs, Audis and Mercs, however never seen any Volvo in his shop. Finally how good is the 2.5L 5 cylinder engine? I could not find any team-bhp review for S60 CC.
