4-speed auto is sadly here to stay, it'll be seen in more Maruti models soon.

Maruti seriously needs a new five-speed TC AT or a DCT.

Even with a 4 speed Ertiga can touch 150+ as seen in some youtube videos, but it would be good to see how both of them cope up with fully loaded hill climb.

Maruti Suzuki will offer the XL6 in two variants: Zeta and Alpha (top). The XL6’s Zeta variant is based on the Ertiga’s Z variant while the XL6 Alpha is based on the Ertiga Z+.There will be the option of automatic transmission in both variants of the XL6, but Maruti offers automatic transmission on Ertiga Zxi only, and not on the Zxi+

Can the bench seat of a normal Ertiga be fitted into this car? That way a family of 6 can travel with luggage if one of the third row seats is folded down.

Thanks for sharing this. The difference between Zeta and Alpha appears to be:

1. Leather seats
2. Electronically foldable OVRMs
3. Auto headlamps.

I thought even cruise control would be only on top version. Thumbs up if the above list is true.

I have absolutely no problem with the car. Its fine. But those claddings... Who approved those?! "Nazar suraksha kavach".
The car won't need nimbu-mirchi at all with those claddings on. More savings and reduced cost of ownership thanks to MSIL.

So if I'm not mistaken, the XL6 gets properly sized individual center arm rests for the 2 occupants in the middle row.

And - the front occupants don't get these very convenient arm rests individually . What would be the rationale behind that? Or they just forgot in the hurry?

I have not been following this thread and XL6 that closely. Just out of curiosity, does any of the variant have 6 airbags? Also I believe this is a Petrol only engine. Is it BS6 compliant?

Simple! They will have to make different sets of seats for the front row as well! They are anyway procuring front seats in bulk for the Ertiga, reengineering them doesn't make any sense financially

I believe its the same set, only the hand-rest was added, like a modular furniture fitting, economies of scale.

Yes in Petrol only and yes its BS6 compliant.
