In USA, KIA Sedona (Grand Carnival) is considered a league below Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey, both are ordinary MPVs.

Though in India KIA is boasting luxury and bling, in developed countries its an ordinary brand which is well behind the likes of Toyota, Honda, GM etc !

Okay, now, what an ugly car. My goodness. Ofcourse it is my opinion and some may find it good looking, but the design has all the complexity of the drawing of a half asleep 4 year old.

Somebody posted a much more "dechromed" version, which is much kinder to my eyes, but then this will only be sold in limited numbers, according to some articles, so won't have to torture my eyes with this monstrosity for too long.

Also, any potential luxury fleet owners won't take too kindly to the unavailability of a diesel option. Even the 2.8 from the fortuner will make do just fine.

Its catering to a different segment and is hugely popular in countries like Thailand, where its sold at a similar price. It will have a niche segment of buyers, especially large indian families, who will want to keep one of these in their fleet.

You have to see it in person to experience its sheer presence on road. Photos don't do justice tbh. This was the first time that I have ever diverted my attention to click a car's photo. I have even seen a Ferrari FF in delhi, but something about this car's presence really amazed me.

The current generation Alphard and Vellfire are ugly. The previous generation MPVs looked way better. However the current generation Vellfire looks beautiful when parked near an Alphard. It definitely turns heads. But then Lexus is trying hard to make the Alphard uglier with LM. The Lexus LM makes the Alphard look less uglier.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” so though you have every reason to complain; it does not mean the product is outrightly ugly. They have to create the space to put those La-Z-boy size recliners, so it has to be a van shape. And as few others have said, this looks nice in person.

It's hybrid, and given the uncertainties over Diesel, most guys prefer to play safe.

From my private discussions with the dealership, they are entirely sold out for 2019 Quota. They had only a few cars for this year, so I won't dispute the claims. Even if each dealership gets two vehicles, for the remainder of 2019, it will be a significant number.

Sorry for being a bit off topic, I was surprised by the registration series BR01 PJ XXXX

I know if one wishes to opt for a particular or VIP number, there is a facility to officially jump the running series. But this particular one seems like too far. And by the way, fastest rate of consuming vehicle registration series has to be awarded to Pune. Hands down.

In almost all districts of Bihar, the commercial vehicles or a private vehicle with over 5 seats are given numbers with P series, so it starts at PA, PB and so on. You can get a normal series number for your 7-8 seater vehicle if registered as a private one. This particular one did jump the queue but as of today, the series is indeed past PJ. Another thing to note is that I and O are not awarded as it can cause confusion.

The car is estimated to be priced around Rs 75 lakh and will gun up straight against the Mercedes -Benz V-Class that costs between Rs 68.40 lakh (Expression Line) – Rs 81.90 lakh (Exclusive Line).
