Looks like there's finally some news about this launch. I hope India gets the Rubicon and some customization options. And at least one of the American engines instead of just the two European engines.

Look at the post right above & you'll see that they are carrying "BYExxx" temp plates. Also ARAI test stickers on the rear screen.
Its quite certainly the SAME car but in an older photo with the camouflage still on.

The WhatsApp guys have captured an under test JEEP Wrangler & are calling it a Jimny! They should expect a defamation case, group admin being arrested, members being charged etc. etc.

With the new rules allowing 2500 vehicles to be imported to India without homologation - why is Jeep testing the vehicle with ARAI?

Could this mean the new Wrangler is CKD instead?

CKD is possible if FCA decides to make India hub for RHD Jeeps as domestic volumes will be too little. Even if Jeep manages to make it in India and price close to 35 Lac which I doubt they can, there will be numerous people choosing Endeavour or Fortuner over Wrangler. But you are right, something must be in pipeline more than just Imports

The "Mother Plant" for all Wrangler's sold globally is in Toledo New Mexico USA. Dont think Jeep has ever produced Wrangler's elsewhere, nor would do it.

Spotted these 2 - and 4 - door beauties racing on the Mumbai Pune expressway hours back. I'm confused. Are they Wranglers or Thars? They looked too good to be from Mahindra.
(I personally find the Wrangler better looking than the current Thar)
