It's an outright ugly design and that's what Hyundai has been showing us off late. But, with the Creta's long story of success and the recent Venue's success, I'm very sure there will be takers even if it is launched with the same looks as ix25. Facelifted Creta didn't go to the likes of many Bhpians I've come across, but most of the people in the outside world didn't have a problem with it. This comes with more space and all the connectivity gimmicks if I'm not wrong.

So yeah, no matter how ugly the headlights, tail lights may look like or no matter if it's insanely over priced, that silhouette throws a magical spell and brings Hyundai huge profits. Yes that's the Irony!

What's wrong with Hyundai? Their designs were good looking and the Chinese versions lately spied (Verna and Creta) are positively hideous. Being a Hyundai and a soft roader, it will surely sell. The tail lamps look incomplete with a white portion between the strip and the lamps.

This is one truly ugly Creta, I should say. Both front and back are messed up.

Looks like they have hired some of Ssangyong’s old designers, the ones that came up with the dog that was Actyon and the likes.
Also reminded me of the Zen Classic. Really hope they are planning to change this design before getting it in the Indian market.

I think we will be getting the ugly looking exterior, but the good looking interior will not make it here. It will either be similar to the Kia Seltos or a small upgrade to the existing one.

Seeing the huge success of the similar looking Venue, I feel the front may still be acceptable but that rear looks ghastly!

The rear lights remind me of a first generation Tata Indigo.

Next-gen Hyundai Creta to share engines with Kia Seltos - three engines options

The new Hyundai 1.5-litre diesel engine will have two power outputs, where the lower powered version will replace the current 1.4-litre diesel and the more powerful VGT-equipped version will take the place of the current 1.6-litre unit.

Similarly, the new 1.5-litre petrol will replace the 1.4-litre engine in the brand’s India range.

three engine options for India – a 115hp/144Nm 1.5-litre petrol (6-speed manual and CVT), a 115hp/250Nm 1.5-litre diesel (6-speed manual and 6-speed auto), and a 140hp/242Nm 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT auto) unit.

Yeah. Remarkably, a larger Creta/Seltos will be running with a 1.5 diesel engine that has power figures similar to but torque numbers LESS than the much smaller & a segment lower Tata Nexon & Mahindra XUV300!

Due credit to the Indian manufacturers then for coming up with these 2 gems of engines in the 1.5L turbo diesel segment.

With the 1.4L CRDI getting discontinued - looks like Hyundai will use the same 1.5L KIA unit in a detuned state with FGT in the Venue post BSVI roll out. Hilarious. And yet people will pay the premium asked for by the Creta as ever.


I simply LOVE the current gen face-lifted Creta. Its one of the most proportionate designs out there. Perfectly sized for our needs & from the front its droolworthy. This iX25 is...well...lowering the bar for the next facelift 2 years later. Perhaps the next facelift in 2024 will be simply a rebirth of current gen.

If it's indeed the Creta then good news I guess!
It doesn't look like the Chinese version as per the slight tail lamp design which can be seen.
Seems like Hyundai indeed knows what Indian consumers wants and would make the necessary changes. Though I'm sure the front would be the same as revealed in the pictures above.

Good Job Hyundai ! They have modified the rear end for India as is visible in the spy images. The number plate has moved up and the rear tail lights seem like they are back to their usual shape and design.
It would have been a mistake to bring the Chinese version here and everyone would have been surprised if they did. Good thing better sense has prevailed
